I don't like this that much, but what the hell, I'm sure you'll gobble it up.

I reached out into the night
Feeling the walls with my hands

I never wanted to cause a scene,
I just did this for myself.
I only wanted a sparkler
Like we had when we were kids,
Dancing on the Fourth of July.
But instead I got a firework
Which knocked me off my feet.

But now I’ve burned every page I’ve ever written
The books were never meant to line your shelves.

But I like the poem. The firework/sparkler imagery is just enough without going overboard.
