Which is the better game? And are either worth buying?

The only baseball game I have right now is MVP 05 and MVP 06(The College one). Don't get me wrong, I love the college one and all but I need a major league game.

I was wondering if the new ones were worth buying or if I should just keep playing MVP 05 and update the rosters.

I got the show. Its alright. A little glitchy on my PS2. I dont know whether its because my ps2 is old or not. What exactly are you looking for in a baseball game?

I am looking for good overall play and good graphics....I could careless about those minor details, though Accurate Minor League players would be a perfect bonus for me.

Well graphics wise the show i think will edge 2k6. Hitting is pretty challenging, in a good way. Pitching is better than MVP since you have to take into account break on sliders and curves. So instead of aiming where the ball will end up, you aim where you want it to start before it breaks. Fielding is a little glitchy. Minor League wise I dont know how many players are actually in it since they cant legally put a player in until they play in the Majors. I will say there is a minor league player name Bill Simmons in the Show.

I have the show, which takes some getting used to after playing MVP the past few seasons. I like the show alright, what pisses me off is if you aim a curve ball at the top of the zone with your cursor, it will drop to the bottom of the zone. If you throw a knuckle ball it will end up at any random spot even if you tap the meter at the perfect spot. I like to play against my friends that you can only throw in the strike zone and this game makes it close to impossible to do. I'm still very bummed that EA can't make MVP because the alternatives don't even come close.

I like the pitching. More simulation. You shouldnt be able to hit the bottom corner wiht the pitch of your choice every pitch.

so its more realistic in terms of that...I'm still holding it out....I know from past experiences that 2K sports have made shitty baseball games, and I don't think I've played a 989 baseball game since before the Triple Play Series of EA.

Yeah the past balls are more frequent too depending on break of pitch and how good the catcher is. I dont know. I find the game enjoyable. Although I obviously haven't played the 2k game so I dont know.
