Actually, if you guys weren't good it wouldn't have been a win worth mentioning. Next time i'll keep myself in check before i rejoice when my team gets a big win and extends a winning streak. oh wait, that's just sports.

yep. as of now, the cavs would play washington in the first round. if they get larry hughes back, i think they can beat them, i think larry would step his game up against his old team. but if he's not back, i think they'll have a tough time with them.

if they keep improving every game like they are now, they'll be tough in the playoffs, with or without hughes.
flip has been huge for this team. having him and hughes available will be sick. jones is finally beginning to play undouchey and donyell is realizing that a power forward is allowed to take shots from inside the three-point line.
i realize they're just on a hot streak now, and they're a very streaky team. by this time next week they could be in the middle of a losing streak. but they're getting better. even brown is improving game by game as a coach.
i know i'm biased, but i honestly think they can make some noise in the playoffs.

its good that your biased, because if you weren't you wouldn't be a fan. haha i have hopes that the hawks can win 30 games this year.
they are on a hot streak right now, but only one of the wins is against a playoff caliber team, in the lakers. the other four were celtics, rockets, blazers and bobcats. if you look to the previous three games, they were losses, two of them were dallas and miami.
the cavs have already lost to washington twice this year. the main thing that worries me about the cavs is their lack of playoff experience, and the level of play is stepped up. its going to be good to see if lebron can take his game, and his team to that next level.

yeah, i realize the wins aren't against the toughest competition. but i'll take that, cause they've struggled with sub 500 teams all year. they're just now finally getting to the point where they're consistently beating the teams they should be beating. the games are a little bit closer than they need to be most the times, but hell, that may pay off come playoff time.
as far as the heat and mavs losses though, i'm even taking positives from that. both games they had control of for over three quarters, they just couldn't close it out. if they can come out like that against that kind of competition, they just need to learn to not fall apart at the end. which is where all these close games may come in handy.
but like i said, they're streaky. they'll win 5, 6, 7 in a row, then turn around and lose 4, 5 or 6. if they get their consistency together, and can stay hot and keep improving, they can do some good things.
lebron's already stepped his play up a notch. i'm just hoping he can keep that going and even go up another notch come playoff time.

i dont think lebrons game is stepped up. he needs to go a notch higher. the competition is going to be twice as hard as the regular seaosn. he had 47 in the loss to miami, and then completely fell apart. if they cant keep up in the end in the regular season, i dont see them doing it in the post season. lebron is an awesome player, no doubt, but he needs to have the leadership qualities like wade has before his team makes some noise. wade is barely edging out lebron as the best player in their draft class, and i honestly believe that, but if lebron steps his game up and helps lead the cavs deep into the playoffs, like he has the potential to do, i think he'll surpass wade.

i'm not denying he needs to go a notch higher, but he has stepped up a bit. he's putting up good stats, but it goes more than that. just watching him over the last couple of weeks he's becoming more and more of a floor general. if somebody makes a stupid play, he goes right to them and lets them know. not in a dickish way, but in a leadership way. he demands the ball when the team needs him to now, instead of letting it come to him like he used to. he takes over a game when he has to. he hasn't always done that. he's still got a long long way to go, but he's getting there. it'd scare me if i was seeing no improvement, but you can tell by watching him that he's growing into the leader he needs to be.
their fourth quarters are getting better. if the playoffs start today, that would concern me majorly. but like i said, if they keep getting better and keep finding out what needs done to close out a game, that'll all come in handy in the playoffs.
i honestly don't see them getting past the pistons, but second round i don't think is out of the question this year. then next year, with a few holes plugged here and there, look out.

Lebron's one of those players that i want so badly to succeed just because he seems like such a good guy. I'd love to see the cavs at least get out of the second round. I've seen Flip's name in a headline on NBA.com every week lately, he's been hitting game winning shots left and right. Awesome pick up for them before the deadline. I like their team alot and since the all star break they've been playing a lot better so hopefully they can surprise some people. Outside they have one of those line ups of players that work hard to get better even though their natural abilities dont necessarily make them household names.
As for the draft class, I agree with Wade edging out Lebron, but i think Lebron will definitely develop into the player he's expected to be. I'm still not 100% positive if it is that Wade's more effective or if he's exceeding expectations while Lebron is living up to them, but I'm leaning more towards the former. I personally love both of them. I will say im biased against Carmelo and i'm not a big fan by any means, but i can't say he's not a fantastic player.

its pretty scary what he's capable of. if you watch a heat game he does just about everything for the team. i actually think he's the reason all the off-season acquisitions didnt drag the team down, because i thought having wade, shaq, posey, walker, payton, j. williams, and mourning on the same team would wreck them, but he's showing he came into the NBA ready to be a leader.

I would be mad if some teenager came up to me started telling me that he read that same book a year ago.

On an even lighter and less related to the current conversation note, the nets just beat the suns, and it looks like (as usual) they're gunna make a sick end of the season run, peak just before the last few games into the season, and hit their slump in the playoffs. But atleast i'll remember the good times (like the last 9 games)
