....but seriously, i get what he's saying. it's the same problem i have with veal. baby cows don't get to live their life before they're killed for hungry italians. adult cows however have lived a while before they are killed, plus theyre not babies chained down so they can't walk, so there's nothing inhumane about it. (p.s. vegetarians don't bother lashing back at me for that, you won't recruit me.)

but back to the point, if it were adult seals it would be understandable for that same reason. if they're allowed to at least grow into adults and procreate so their species survives, then at least it won't kill off the seals

He was just trying to find a horrific, traumatic event that most people reading the press releases would most likely be able to have at least some kind of knowledge about, and it just so happens that the Holocaust was what he came up with. I know seal hunt sounds (and looks) really disgusting, but we have to understand that some people don't have the luxury to stop doing it, its not for pleasure, for communities located in Newfoundland, Labrador, and parts of Quebec, seal hunting is the ONLY part of their revenue.

I guess I'm just annoyed that its the new trend for celebrities (McCartney, Brigitte Bardot, Pamela Anderson, ect.) to join the fight against seal hunting and all that boycotting bullshit. Its been around for centuries, the First Nations have been doing it has part of their traditions, its doesn't make up for it being a crual affair but that's just the way it goes.

As great as it is to stand up for your beliefs, a country boycott is such a hypocritical move. Guaranteed, Morrissey will eventually play Canada again. Massive Attack boycotted the United States since well before the release of 100th Window, but now they're playing Coachella next month, because they realise that boycotting a country isn't exactly productive. Now, I'm not saying a Morrissey tour skipping Canada is going to make the man declare bankruptcy, but he's going to lose a fair chunk of fans for a bold statement like that. And, finally, it's fucking hypocritical. He's from a country that frequently deports innocent asylum-seekers from Iraq and Algeria, and is also planning on visiting the States, a country that frequently enters armed conflict to support puppet regimes and murderous totalitarian states in Colombia, Turkey, and, of course, Iraq.
