I'll be going to the first Orlando date. I'd love to go to both, but I'm seeing The Get Up Kids in Ft Lauderdale on the 12th. Oh well, I'm excited anyway! The Social is a pretty small venue and I like it a lot.
Since there are two dates, maybe we can expect an in-store session at Park Ave. CDs on the day of the 12th?

I'd love to go to this. But i won't get to because I already made a decision to go to a different show the week before the St. Pete date.

Didn't even think of that, that'll be sick if it happens.
Either way, so siked for two Orlando dates.

NYC!
I'm not sure which one to go. The second show is usually the better of the two right?
I'm excited to see Eisley. I saw them at a headlining show at the HOB in May of last year, and it was by far one of the best shows I saw all year. Say Anything isn't bad either so it'll be cool to see both of them in such a small venue.

thank you. I don't get paid until the weekend, so I can't do presale. That is $20.25 is not bad at all. I hope it doesn't go up too much from that price after they go on sale.

The House of Blues is great, it's beautiful inside, and Boston in general is a safe area to be in, so don't worry about any of that. I usually park at a T-station lot (a tram that takes you into Boston) and get off at the station closest to the HOB. The T only costs like 4 dollars total.

This section of the forum is such a joke any more.
This is coming from the same guy who created the Warped Tour thread before it actually started, omgz what a crime it is to do that. I made this topic before the tour began simply for discussion purposes, and it's much nicer to have one main popular tour thread than three or four separate threads on single shows from a tour. With a tour like this that will be a big hit with AP, I don't see why not.
iam_theculprit
09/07/09, 08:02 PM
I don't think this thread is too early at all. Max has already started about what songs they'll be playing on tour on his Twitter, which by the way, does anyone remember what they were? And how much of the new album do you think they'll play on the dates before or immediately after the new album drops?

there were a few songs from defense that i liked a lot (that is why, this is fucking ecstacy, shiksa, people like you, about falling, have at thee!) but it wasn't better than is a real boy by far. every song off that album is masterful, so catchy but so well written and good at the same time. hearing a lot of songs from that album would be amazing. i dont think id want to see them play any new songs that i didn't know.
im also pretty stoked for moving mountains.

This is one of my favorite bands ever haha. I'm 99% sure they will play Hold That Sound. I dunno what else they are playing but I'd like to know. At the chat with Kenny yesterday I told him to play Life's Too Short Little Ndugu and he said he might. Hopefully he listens to me...

moneens setlist from last night was epic. i love this band so much, and kenny is one of the nicest guys i have ever met, hes all heart. i feel bad cause there was only girls or sissys at that show last night so there wasnt a lot of action for them but there was a solid group of us gettin down.
there set list was something like this
-Don't Ever Tell Locke What He Can't Do(opener)
-Are We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now?
-Hold That Sound
-There Are a Million Resons for Why This May Not Work...And Just ...(This was awesome live, kenny said he had to throw it in to fit in with the other bands)
-Believe
-The Passing Of America(closer)
thats the setlist in order i might be forgeting one song though. i really would have liked to see them play "If Tragedy's Appealing, Then Disaster's an Addiction" maybe mext time.
and say anything was awesome there setlist was good i wanted to see belt though=(

ya they had some shirts all pretty cool, what you woould expect from them, they had all there cd's except the first ep, they had there new cd, in both forms the special and regular. the regular was only 6 bucks! and some stickers. there was also the hold that sound ep on vinyl. the shirts for all bands were 20 bucks, which is a little steep expecially for the openers but i hope they do good with sales.

im not sure what colors they had, i only saw the vinyl cover not the actual vinyl. the deluxe was 12. they def had are we really happy i wasnt expensive at all. we did get to meet them, my friend and i got to meet them before and after the show. before they were just chillen at a table talking, no body recognized them but us ha. after they walk around near the merch. i was actually surpirsed with the crowd moneen had barly a crowd just close fans. eisley had a decent amount of fans. and say anything had a huge crowd, but what surprised me was the show was not sold out i was schocked not having the tour kickoff show sold out, still was rad though.

SLC, UT semi-review
- Moving Mountains only played 4 songs. 2 from the EP and 2 from Pneuma. (no Ode To Bury Ourselves...)
- Eisley was great. Met the girls after they played, and they gave me a poster (worth 10 bucks) because I gave their little brother a 2 dollar tip. Chantelle touched my arm. :) ..... Max didn't sing the song with Eisley tonight, because Max is getting sick. He woke up today with the flu or something, so he waited til his own set.
- Moneen were great. I dont know any of their songs really so i cant tell you the set list...
- Bayside was entertaining. I'm not too into them though, so i dont know their set list either.
- Say Anything didn't play "Admit It" tonight. But they were fun, as usual.

Easily my least favorite show I've been to so far. Not that any of the bands were bad, just so many things added up to suck. The Vic in Chicago is fucking terrible. Also, drunk people suck ass. Oh no no. I don't want to convey that state of mind, sorry. Their setlist was good and had the essentials in there, and I'm not saying the lack of two songs alone ruined the night, but sometimes they had me scratching my head. I know no band will ever play the perfect setlist. Just ircked me a bit.
Moneen's van broke down in utah, so Kenny and Chris flew out and did an acoustic set. It was fucking fantastic. I think they were better then Say Anything.

Moving Mountains sounded great last night. Fuck the people that were talking during Moneen's set though. Their acoustic set sounded great. I thought Eisley sounded really nice live. Stacy has such a beautiful singing voice and was very polite when I talked to her. I thought Eloise and Hate Everyone were pretty boring live. Say Anything had more energy on stage than I have ever seen them have before. It was definitely worth the trip up to Chicago. I can see myself in that picture, haha. The Chicago show was phenomenal, although I too was a bit disappointed they didn't play belt. It was still awesome though. I talked to Jake after the show and he signed my belt.
And come on now! just because you got stuck near the douchebags doesn't mean we're all like that! haha.
I was actually by some really cool people. I could hear people talking throughout the place during Moneen. I understand people are there for Say Anything, but how hard is it to keep quiet for 30 minutes at a time. It happened during Manchester Orchestra's set during Say Anything's tour last year.

Yeah I remember it during Manchester. and when all those people were shoving people around while andy was pouring his heart out during colly strings. Then he stopped the song, told them to stop being fucking retarded, and continued. and that was the coolest thing ever, haha.

Moneen's van broke down in utah, so Kenny and Chris flew out and did an acoustic set. It was fucking fantastic. I think they were better then Say Anything.
Say Anything was great though. So much energy.
Moving Mountains was great, but Eisley sucked. Eisley didn't deserve to be co-headlining at all.
That's such a dick thing to say. Eisley were nowhere near sucky. They're talented and I enjoy them way more than any of the other bands on this tour. And saying Moneen was the best clearly shows that your opinion is a tad off. Moneen was terribly boring.

I am convinced that Say Anything fans in Chicago are douchebags and disrespectful to opening bands.
TRUTH.

Eisley had interesting beginning to their songs, but there wasn't anything to keep attention. The lead vocals were good, but the back up really got on my nerves after awhile. There's a difference between sounding good and being talented. Eisley just did not sound that good. Nothing really ever caught on or caught my interest.
Moneen was terribly boring? Are you kidding? Sure it was an acoustic show, but they're music is a lot more unique then Eisley was. Hell Eisley shouldn't have even be co headlining with Say Anything and I'm pretty sure the only reason they were was because it's max bemis' wife.

Well they didn't really co-headline. They were direct support. Stacy's voice sounded great though.

I thought they were good, but a lot of times they were drowned out by Sherri's vocals and it took away from the songs. The only time I liked Sherri's voice was when she took lead for the song Max helped write.
An interesting thing I noticed was that the band's chemistry seemed to be a bit off or bothered. Maybe it was just me, but whenever Stacy would try to talk, Sherri would cut her off before she could finish. Then when Stacy mostly had main vocals, sherri took lead with the newer song. Maybe Sherri has had lead on other songs, but I don't listen to Eisley. Still, I found it interesting that Stacy seemed kind of mad at her. When she would add a "Thank you!", Sherri just had to get another thank you right after that. She didn't want to be outshown.

May just not be your taste but that doesn't mean they were horrible by any means.
And more unique than Eisley? HIGHLY disagree. I love how you're trying to make it seem as though it was some huge honor for Eisley to be on this tour (and are only on it because of Max) as if they haven't been on bigger tours than this before. Pretty silly.

I am not too into Sherri. She is alright at guitar and has a pretty good voice. Stacy has a better voice and Chauntelle is a better guitarist than Sherri. Maybe it's a sibling rivalry thing or something ha.

I don't see it as Eisley is on it because Sherri is married to Max. Max always seems to just pick bands he likes to open. I was kind of surprised that Moneen was just support and not direct support.

Chicago was legit. I was hoping to hear more stuff off of IDOTG though. I'm pissed I missed most of Moneen, but the girl I took had 7 shots lined up for me when I arrived at her apartment. Then we jumped on the red line and got off at the wrong stop 2 times. It was pretty epic actually. I had a lot of fun

But were they Co-Support? To say that they aren't on this tour because Sherri and Max are married is "pretty silly" also. Not that I'm against Eisley being on the tour. I actually wouldn't have minded them if they had played 5 songs, but I don't think they should have been able to play 11 songs. It's not a "huge honor" as you like to put it, but they definitely didn't deserve to be co-support.

Sherri sings lead just as often as Stacy, if not more. Both times I've seen them , all three girls would repeat "thank you" over and over again after every single song. I couldn't figure out if they were joking, or were just actually that grateful. Anyway, I was going to see this show in MD but it's sold out.

was it the really young kid who was legit heckling moneen? i cussed him out, he was right next to me and he ended up leaving. and yeah, as soon as that fucking push happened i left the crowd. i've only ever done that one other time, because i was severely dehydrated, but it was just stupid how many fucking hipsters were cumming in their tight pants once they realized max bemis was in the same building as them. and he didn't even sound good at all.

I don't know what people expect when they go to see Say Anything. A Say Anything set is fun - nothing more, nothing less. They do not sound very good live and this was the sixth time I have seen them and I say that every time but I go for the fun. If you let a crowd ruin the show for you maybe you shouldn't be going anyways? I know when we got there, which was late and I missed Moving Mountains (which is upsetting) there was a row of people standing along the back wall (during Esiley) looking as if they felt like they were too good, too indie to be at the show. Stay the fuck home then. And don't even get my started on Scott Hisel's fat ass and the girl who stole Max's ring.
I've seen Say Anything once before, and I really enjoyed it. And I've seen a lot of fucking bands, been in a lot of sketchy crowds, but never had a show ruined by the crowd.

So you're judging them just because the way they looked standing against the wall? That seems a little ridiculous.
I was excited to see Say Anything but I don't like the setlist so now I'm kind of meh. Then I got excited to see Moving Mountains only to realize they aren't playing at my show. Sigh. Oh well. I'm looking forward to "Woe" a lot.

Where to begin...
Easily my least favorite show I've been to so far. Not that any of the bands were bad, just so many things added up to suck. The Vic in Chicago is fucking terrible. Also, drunk people suck ass. And the Say Anything setlist had some choice cuts, but really, no Molly or Belt? Ending with Admit It!!! (I don't see what's so damn great about that song)? Just overall crappy night.
I agree about the Vic. I try to avoid it the best I can when a band is on tour hoping they play Milwaukee as well. The ease of access to the Vic from the L is nice, but the venue is just shit. I remember I saw Rise Against(pre-sufferer/pre-d-bag frat boy fans), and we were all packed in there. It sucked, but it was during my "OMG I GOT TO GET TO THE FRONT" phase...Which was actually cool cause I got the mic from Tim a lot. Now I don't care and I just get drunk in the back. Thank you The Vic, for contributing to my alcoholism.
