I'm waiting for an apology from the GOP establishment to Madame Secretary Napolitano, thanks.

And you assume that everyone who opposes Health Care reform are all Republicans?

It's been proven that some of those people who have been caught on video lashing out on Democratic Senators and Representatives are actually registered democrats.

Also the Huffington Post is more bias than Fox News/MSNBC/CNN/ABC/CBS combined in terms of bias.

1. That's not what I was assuming. I am actually talking more about the Homeland Security report that the GOP demanded to be squelched because it implied that right wing anger would become a problem in the future.

2. I don't care.

3. Question the information, not the source.

What are you even trying to say? In no way is Sean saying that everyone who is opposed to the health care bill is a Republican. He's making reference to the criticism Sec. Napolitano received from Republicans for issuing a report saying right-wing terrorism is on the rise. This, plus the Dr. Tiller's murder, are evidence of the aforementioned report's validity.

Numerous of these rowdy protesters came prepared with cameras, meaning the hocus pocus was all coordinated. SO PREDICTABLE.

strange how the opposition manifests as interrupting the spread of information and quieting any debate that might have actually happened at these meetings. just stunning how this is seriously a strategy...

I'm going to Dennis Moore (D-R3 Kan) community meeting when its announced here, alot of these democrats in moderate/conservative area's have alot of explaining to do. Moore's a good man, but he's lost sight of his district. But I want to hear him out even if he's probably lost my vote forever due to his support of the Energy Tax Bill.

But I can't imagine it getting as out of control as those recent youtube videos or the idiot liberal protests of the bush years. I just don't see that happening here.

But on that same token these people are merely 'protesting' trying to stop Mr Obama from digging us into a deep hole. Its all circular.

My issue isn't with protesting per se, but the antics of those protesting. I've never lost more respect for a particular group than I did after seeing the so-called 'anti-war' protesters 'protesting' in downtown KC. It was pretty sad seeing them turn a valid political argument into a circus act.

let's see who is funding these astroturf groups:

Oil and Gas Industries Fuel Unruly Townhall Meetings (http://mediamattersaction.org/factcheck/200908060005)

August 06, 2009 2:00 pm ET During the congressional recess, Democratic lawmakers have been facing unruly mobs at town hall meetings in their districts. However, the protestors' outrage has been largely manufactured by front groups tied to the oil and energy industries.

FreedomWorks

FreedomWorks Released An August Recess Action Kit. On August 5, 2009, FreedomWorks released its August Recess Action Kit and encouraged people to "find a town hall meeting near you." Chairman Dick Armey wrote: "We've provided an August Recess Action Kit for you packed with good talking points, important questions, handouts to invite friends to attend events with you, and other helpful resources. Thank you in advance for doing your part. Congresswoman Pelosi will know soon enough that August isn't like any other month, August is when the grassroots took a stand once and for all." As Media Matters Action Network noted, FreedomWorks' Action Kit is full of false talking points about cap-and-trade (http://mediamattersaction.org/factcheck/200908060004) and health insurance reform (http://mediamattersaction.org/factcheck/200908060003).
FreedomWorks Has A List Of Town Hall Meetings Over The Recess. Americans For Prosperity

Americans For Prosperity Is "Deeply Involved" In Protests. As reported by the Boston Globe, "Conservative activist groups are deeply involved. A leading example is Americans for Prosperity, whose sister foundation is chaired by David H. Koch - a billionaire whose family made a fortune in oil production and whom Forbes magazine in March ranked as the world's 19th richest person - and which also coordinated the 'tea parties' in April protesting Obama's 'irresponsible' economic policies. The groups are running millions of dollars of television ads and have sent a bus across America to stir up sentiment against revamping healthcare. Its website lists town hall meetings planned by Democratic lawmakers to help activists find a venue for protest."

Americans For Prosperity President Tim Phillips Is Encouraging Members To Attend Town halls. Tim Phillips, president of Americans for Prosperity, wrote on the group's website: "Americans for Prosperity has always encouraged members to visit the district offices and attend town hall meetings of their senators and representatives, especially during this August break when issues like health care and cap-and-trade are at the peak of debate. Our 500,000+ members are concerned about the impact of the cap-and-trade energy tax and a government takeover of health care, and we have a variety of grassroots events going on around the country." [AmericansForProsperity.org, 8/3/09 (http://mediamattersaction.org/rd?to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.americansfor prosperity.org%2F080309-visit-your-representatives-and-senators); emphasis added]
"Americans For Prosperity Of Koch Industries"

Americans For Prosperity Has Strong Connections To Koch Industries. In a post titled "Americans For Prosperity Of Koch Industries," The Wonk Room wrote: "The group isn't just funded by an industry CEO, it was planted by one. David Koch, Executive Vice-President of family-founded multi-national conglomerate Koch Industries, is a founder of AFP and a financial supporter through the family-controlled and company-financed Claude R. Lambe Foundation. Koch Industries, Inc. and its sister company, Koch Holdings, LLC, own a group of companies invested in refineries, chemicals, minerals and so on." [The Wonk Room, 7/27/08 (http://mediamattersaction.org/rd?to=http%3A%2F%2Fwonkroom.thinkpr ogress.org%2F2008%2F07%2F27%2Fkoch-hot-air%2F)]

[B]Koch Industry Is "An Estimated $90 Billion Conglomerate With Oil And Gas Holdings." In 2007, the Boston Herald described Koch Industries as "an estimated $90 billion conglomerate with oil and gas holdings." [Boston Herald, 10/10/07]
Koch Industries Is One Of The Largest Private Companies In America. According to its website, "Koch Industries is one of the largest private companies in America, according to Forbes magazine [It was ranked #1 in 2006]. Based in Wichita, Kan., Koch Industries owns companies involved in refining and chemicals; process and pollution control equipment and technologies; minerals and fertilizers; polymers and fibers; commodity and financial trading and services; and forest and consumer products. With approximately $100 billion in revenue, Koch companies have a presence in nearly 60 countries and employ about 70,000 people." American Solutions For Winning The Future

Newt Gingrich's American Solutions For Winning The Future has been one of the biggest players in the fight against cap-and-trade. The organization has run ads (http://mediamattersaction.org/rd?to=http%3A%2F%2Fblogs.abcnews.co m%2Fthenote%2F2009%2F06%2Fgingrichs -group-takes-on-capandtrade-in-tv-ad.html) against the bill and provided talking points for conservatives to call members of Congress (http://mediamattersaction.org/rd?to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.americansolu tions.com%2Ftake-action%2F2009%2F06%2Fcall-your-member-of-congress-tell-them-to-stop-the-energy-tax.php), while Gingrich has been a constant public face of opposition.
American Solutions For Winning The Future Is Funded By The Largest Coal Company In The World. According to the Center for Public Integrity, "The world's largest coal company and one of the nation's top fossil-fueled power companies are among the leading donors so far this year to Newt Gingrich's political advocacy group, which has been fighting climate legislation on Capitol Hill with a 'Stop the Energy Tax' phone-in campaign to Senate offices. Peabody Energy, the St. Louis-based coal giant, gave $250,000 to American Solutions for Winning the Future in February, putting it atop the Gingrich-led group's big contributors for the first half of 2009, according to the nonprofit's newly filed report at the Internal Revenue Service. Peabody also gave American Solutions the same amount in 2008. The firm's chief executive, Greg Boyce, has publicly expressed doubts about global warming, so it is not entirely surprising that Peabody would support an issues advocacy group that is going all-out against the climate bill." [Center for Public Integrity, 8/5/09 (http://mediamattersaction.org/rd?to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.publicintegr ity.org%2Fblog%2Fentry%2F1599%2F); emphasis added]
American Solutions For Winning The Future Received Nearly $500,000 From Oil Interests In The First Half Of 2009. As reported by Politico, "Newt Gingrich's political group quietly pulled in an impressive $8.1 million in the first half of the year, a cash haul that enabled the former Speaker of the House to finance a robust political operation that includes at least 17 employees. A report filed Friday with the Internal Revenue Service shows that American Solutions for Winning the Future accepted at least $460,000 from oil interests in the first half of the year, after advancing offshore oil drilling as an issue during the 2008 campaign cycle." [Politico, 8/1/09 (http://mediamattersaction.org/rd?to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.politico.com %2Fnews%2Fstories%2F0709%2F25666.ht ml); emphasis added]

In May 2004, the New York Times reported that Media Matters has received "more than $2 million in donations from wealthy liberals" and "was developed with help from the newly formed Center For American Progress.

Its President and Chief Executive Officer is former lobbyist John Podesta, who served as Chief of Staff to then US President Bill Clinton.

Citing the significant number of its current staff and former staff that have been appointed to positions in the Obama Administration, Time Magazine recently declared that there is "no group in Washington with more influence at this moment in history."

For lots of reasons, Media Matters - and several other media outlets - could be considered part of the current administration's "Ministry of Truth".. even if that would be hard for a smug, far-left loony like you to swallow.

People claiming that that report was offensive are wrong for so many reasons.

1) No claims of ideological bias can be made, since there was a report about left-wing terrorism as well.
2) It came true.
3) People don't understand that the 'right wing' extends far beyond Republicans. People need to stop thinking of the American political spectrum as the be-all-end-all of world politics.
Stewart makes me mad whenever he has conservatives on there. He almost always softballs them and I always expect a beatdown.

I know the thread is about inane ranting, but it's not a requirement of posting.

Also, isn't your desire for Obama to die massively hypocritical given the post preceeding this one? You know, the one where you called protesters, who wished death upon Bush, idiots.

a double standard :"any code or set of principles containing different provisions for one group of people than for another"

there are no codes here saying you cant post opposing views. you are free to post whatever you want. you are also open to critism and debate.

my point is that is that it is NOT ok to rant like that. It is not funny nor tolerant. and to be honest with you, I actually believe there was some truth in his rant.

and this goes for both sides. People have every right to complain if someone rants like that against Obama. They should. However, we should hold the same standard when people rant like that against republicans too. too many times, it is funny when it is done against republicans, but if someone did that against a democrat it is likely coined as hateful or racist.

It was clearly a figure of speech that you were stupid enough to take seriously. Problematic thing of just jumping into conversations here is a lot of us post quite regularly (I'd say about 1/3 my posts stem from participation in this forum) so we all know each other's temperaments. I don't truly wish death upon Newt Gingrich or George Bush or etc. I'm just not going to be distraught with sadness, I won't care, I won't shed a tear, and I probably would rejoice because such mouthpieces of such a wicked ideology, that is far more Orwellian or fascist than Obama (the conservatives are working directly for the health insurance companies--they are supporting the corporatist agenda--you can't get much more fascist than that when in the same breath you are working to suppress the the proletariat), are gone.

So, if you are looking for an apology, I'm sorry for implying I want Gingrich to die. I don't want him to die nor do I wish it upon him. But when he does, I'd like part of his ideology to die with him and I want his relevance to evaporate.
