Cell phones in cars

I know this is a little different than the regular topics here, but I was wondering what everyone thought about outlawing cell phones in cars. We had a interesting debate in school today and I thought it might be an interesting topic.

If things are going to get banne because they distract you, then they should ban radios, cupholders, cigaretter lighters, ash trays, etc.

Although, cell phones should be banned in larger cities (or high trafficked areas).

i posted this before but...

it isn't the governments job to ban cell phones in cars. i think they should give you an increased fine if you are on your phone and commit a moving violation, and if you are stupid enough to get into an accident it should be like drunk driving, its automatically your fault...

also... wuts the difference between talkin to a person in the car or a person ur talkin to over the cell phone?

the difference is with a phone you need your hands, if you talk to someone in the caryou can still have your hands on the wheel.

i say: screw 'em if the car crash doesn't kill them the tumor from their cell phone will.
