ok so I dont wanna sound like a dick and this is just my opinion, but I cant stand billie or anyone from green day anymore. American Idiot is so annoying to me and I never liked it. I cant stand all the 14 year old kids who live by that album and dont even know what dookie or kerplunk is since they were like 3. I feel like an American Idiot now when I rock my Kerplunk shirt I got back in the day. Now Warning was an excellent album and I was so looking forward to something like that, instead I got a poppy as can be pile of punk puke. Sorry to offend, but im sure alot of people would agree.

Just becasue you dont like American idiot doesnt make sense to why you cant stand billie or green day. They are still green day. If you go to their shows..they are still rocking the old tunes along with some new ones but they have to...ya they have fans of one album...they cant do anything about the 14 year olds who live by it. I couldnt believe anyone making an album with that idea in mind. so sure...dont listen to american idiot and look beyond the kids who live by that album...but that band still puts on a show...they dont make it g rated for their fans or the parents who come to chaperone(sp)....so call their new album a piece of shit..but the nband itself is anything but that

agreed codered. also to anyone who makes fun of green day bc they think billie isnt a good guitarist bc of all the powerchords he constantly does, they should hear this one solo i heard him play a while back. Ive yet to see a harder to play solo anywhere....of course wen uve been a band as long as green day, u better be good at ur instrument...

i enjoyed American Idiot when I first bought it back in September of 2004. i swear i was the only person in my town who bought that cd the moment it was released. i've always been the biggest Green Day fan, so it felt someone exclusive to me at one time... and then it just got old and outplayed. next thing i know, all these lame 12 year old kids started wearing the shirts and stuff. it just became too popular. shit like that happens though. it happened with Blink several years ago. i felt that band related to me (or any high school male) more than anyone. but all these stupid 12 year old girls had the posters and shit and i felt somewhat embarassed to say Blink was my favorite band.

yeah, the same "old tunes" they've been rocking every night for the last 5 years

seriously, their shows have become so stale and scripted...to the point where i know exactly what billie is going to say before he even opens his mouth

and i've only seen them 4 times in 5 years

sir how do u kno ppl can pull off billies solo, u didnt see it, it wasnt part of the song, just something seperate he wrote. Im just saying that just because they use power chords all the time doesnt mean hes not a good musician...and yes all those people r really great guitarists, and particularly cohhed, but billie is great, just not better than some of those people...

I love American Idiot...i wasn't expecting anything out of it, but I downloaded the leak and it just blew me away. Jesus Of Suburbia, Give Me Novacaine, Homecoming in particular.

Dookie was just a worse or more commercial version of Insomniac or Kerplunk. The Ramones cover on shenanigans changed some stuff.
