If you're feeling Martha Stewart like, I've made a recent post (http://www.absolutepunk.net/journal.php?do=showentry&e=2912) in my journal about how to turn old band t-shirts into pillowcases.

honestlyI'm 100% serious. That's a really awesome idea I never would have thought of. When I end up needing more pillows, I might end up doing that. You know, for the ol' bachelor pad.

Jason, you know how to sew? I'm impressed.

Haha, I didn't do those .. my mom totally did. I'd prick myself so many times it's not even funny if I tried... there'd be blood everywhere.

WHAT THE FUCK!?!? I've been doing this for years.

I'm not kidding either.

Addendum: And to make things weirder I was considering doing a bunch this spring to cut down on the number of shirts in my t-shirt drawer.

Pssh. I'm probably the only staff member who can sew. Not amazingly well, but I can do it. :)

Don't ask. My mom used to do it a lot, so she taught me how.

If pillows aren't your thing I've turned band shirts into purses/bags before. And if you have enough you can make them into a quilt. And if it's your kind of thing, you can easily turn one into a skirt (best if the shirt is at least a size too large for you though)

Nice Autopilot Off shirt/pillow. I bought the same t-shirt ages ago on clearance for like $5 and it's still one of my favorite shirts.

i made a blanket of 24 tshirts (old ones of mine from random school stuff and rec sports + some random ones from a thrift store). and i only pricked myself a few dozen times...but it kicks ass.

edit: i didn't use band shirts because chances are, if i don't like the band enough anymore to wear the shirt, i don't like them enough to put them on a blanket.

Haha, I'll have to send my outgrown / ruined / fucked etc shirts to mom to make them into pillows, thats badass - thanks.

the girl from the A.K.A.s had something like that on their myspace a while ago. she also had one entry about making bags. it's a really good idea but i don't think i'd ever do it. it's just the thought of having dozens of throw pillows everywhere. i like the quilt idea, though.
