Hey how's it going? My name is Matt and I live in NYC. I've been in bands since I was 15, as well as a promoter. I grew up in South Jersey and there weren't a lot of good shows that were coming in to the area, so I began booking shows at 15. I was able to book bands like: hellogoodbye, Cartel, The Receiving End of Sirens, As Tall As Lions, Just Surrender, Valencia amongst others. So over the years I built a good relationship with a lot of talent buyers, booking agents, and other industry people and was able to use it to my own benefits in my own band. I played guitar and sang back up vocals for Return To Arms for about two years. We toured pretty extensively around the country and got to play with many national acts. We had many prominent opportunities that I believe was direct hard work and effort from playing and not. I also work for a state of the arc studio in Palmyra, NJ that is brand new that we would have access too.
Right now I am looking to take it slow and build a good set, write a solid ep, and have a good time. Eventually including extensive local and regional shows, weekend tours, and doing week runs, but only when fully prepared. I would like it to progressively become a full time thing if it feels right. If the vibe felt right and it went great I would be more than willing to go full time right away. My previous band was more of of an alt-rock band, but I would really love to explore indie pop, dance rock, grittier sound. I am open to playing any pop based style (rock, indie, dance, alternative, soft, piano based, etc.). I am capable of playing guitar, bass, and can fool around on the piano a bit. I have taken professional vocal lessons in the past and am capable of harmonies, some lead. I have a pretty sick gear list, if you want the list I can send it.
I am 21 years old so I'd prefer to play with people between 21-26, but as long as you're 18 and have transportation I don't mind. I am willing to travel to the DE-NJ-PA-NY area. If interested just send me a private message with some info about your self.
