View Full Version : Okay, A Nets opinion question

I've been into the nets even more lately in lieu of their recent run, and i was reading up on the fact that Mille Ilic (the nets second round pick from last year out of Yugoslavia) wants to join the nets this summer. Now I'm speaking completely hypothetically here. Nenad Krstic has been growing in leaps and bounds this season and while he's not a proven NBA center yet, he's been really effective for them. A few scouts have likened Milli Ilic's game to Nenad Krstic's (probably because its a typical foreign finesse big man game) but what effect do you think itll have for the nets had two players like Nenad on the roster rotating in and out. I firmly believe that they need a force at PF better than collins (please, please, PLEASE Drew Gooden) but i really like the idea of two players as effective as Krstic has been rotating in and out. What does everyone think of his game/long term effectiveness/etc.?

Definetely couldn't hurt. If he wants to come in, it could only help them down low. It's hard to tell with european players until they step foot in the NBA though.

I really want a non-european big man presence for them though. Id love them to pick up Boone in the draft and would love Hilton Armstrong (because i'm still pissed that they didnt pick up warrick last year, it couldnt hurt and they need a PF) but i dont want another PF/Center whose best move is to take a step out and shoot. I love Krstic on the team and he's helped them alot, but they need someone whose willing to get out there and push people around (what aaron williams used to do for them, and what marc jackson wouldve done if they gave him more playing time). I know there are a few bulky PF prospects in the draft, and i dont want the nets to fall into the trap of picking up a swingman then wont play or a center they cant use (i.e. Pittsnogle among others, even though i like pittsnogle). Hopefully we can pick up a few players this offseason that'll do SOMETHING for the team.

Nenad Krstic is amazing this season. It couldn't hurt having two players like him. I mean, I wouldn't split their time..we'd have to see how good this other guy is first.
