Dan Duggins of Hot Rod Circuit is playing drums for Biology (http://www.biologymusic.com) now. The band just moved all of their gear into a rehearsal space in Brooklyn and will be writing new music until Fran has to leave for "Warped Tour" with From Autumn To Ashes (http://www.fromautumntoashes.com).

So what is going on with Hot Rod these days? They're still together right?

I hope they are, they are one of the best bands on Vagrant and I never understood, why everyone was dissappointed with their last effort!

biology is amazing! I just got see them on Sunday night at the Say Anything show. They opened up their set with a brand new song and I was so impressed. I fanyone is interested in hearing it I have it on video along with the rest of the show. It would be awesome to hear a lot of new material from them already. fran is such a nice guy too.

I love HRC. They're still together, as far as I know. They came through here last fall. I thought they had a new album coming out soon.

I think they jumped off Vagrant, recorded a new album... and I have no idea.
And Reality's Coming Through is fucking awesome. Not as good as Sorry About Tomorrow, but it still kicks ass.

Hot Rod doesn't get the respect they deserve. Reality's Coming Through was alittle different for HRC, but it was still great.
more kids should've came out to the HRC, Piebald tour.

why is "warped tour" always placed in quotes in news postings on this site?

HRC is the band that got me hooked (gateway drug) into this style of music
Hot Rod has not broken up...they are working on new songs for an EP. Sooner or later people have to progress and if they didn't do new material people will evenutally get bored...fortunately HRC has lasting power.

how can you NOT stand it??
seems like a fair question to pose.
also, i don't see why H*R*C would break up if they lost Duggins, not that i want them to because he's a totally rad drummer, but he's not an original member anyhow. i think they would be ok without him. just as long as Casey stays they'll be the shit.
TRUE TIL DEATH.

I still really dont see how HRC hasn't broken into the mainstream yet. Especially after "Sorry About Tomorrow". I saw them live right before their last disc was released and dare I say they actually upstaged Saves The Day at my particular venue.
Well my friends...the reason HRC hasn't broken into the "mainstream" results in many factors....one being the total and complete drop of any publicity done by Vagrant for Reality...two because unfortunately, indie or not, money plays into it, three because they appeal to a much wider scene than 16 year olds....I can go on and on...as for the comment about Dan leaving the band...he is indeed NOT...he has several projects he's working on as does the rest of the band members which currently are Casey, Andy and Dan. We all hope that HRC can pull another album soon - support is key.
