Lazy? By ensuring your guitar never goes out of tune whilst playing a set is lazy?
It's convenience you tool.

you have to be a retard to not be able to tune your own guitar or just a really inexperienced player. Most professionals will not want or need this and if your guitar is going out of tune during a song theres something else wrong anyhow, musicians usually tune before and after songs anyhow and switch guitars if they have to.

he has a point, if your guitar is going out of tun during a song, then theres a bigger problem
and yeah i mean the good musicians can tune easy and fix things on their own between songs

i second that,
being a guitar player tuning your own guitar is something you need to learn or youll be no where without your ear as a musician.
plus professional musicians don't need anyhting like this.

good musicians notice they're out of tune instantaneously and can fix it even during a song.

pete wentz is so stoked right now.
I don't see too many people who are going to use this. I wouldn't use anything like this because my Boss chromatic tuner gets the job done nicely.

i wonder how this would handle a step down or something that isnt standard tuning

I'm confused!?!? Is it all electronic so that it doesn't even actually move the strings? or does it actually turn the strings and physically tune them? I'm just not comprehending how it does it.

someone make something that will string a guitar and tune it.
then i'll buy it.

The major plus side of this is the fact that it takes you from regular tuning to open tuning in a matter of seconds. No matter how good an ear you have or how much of a "real" musician you are that you can adjust midsong, changing tunings completely between songs is difficult if you're going to be time effective. Obviously this isn't worth 800 dollars but it's a cool idea and further developing it could lead to good results.

they've had these for years, but they were fully imbedded into the guitar and cost thousands to install. not sure why, it's a fucking frequency counter, a few servos and probably a $10 MCU.

Unless its just standard, and then what you use most often.

It sounds too good to be true but if you can switch from standard tuning to Eb in a matter of seconds that would be very cool.

guitars are never 100% in tune in the first place. any time you bend a string or pound on the fret board, the tension on the strings changes and thus the guitar gets more noticeably out of tune. why do you think when guitarist go into the studio they tune after every single take?
if your guitar is going out of tune during a song, then you don't necessarily have problems. it's pretty normal.

From what I've heard about it, it's only for standard tuning.
Then again, I'm too lazy to check the link. This could be new stuff.

This is probably the smartest post on this board yet. I'm convinced that most of these people talking about playing guitar hardly ever play, or don't play live, or not often enough. This is a great piece to be able to tune down instintanously and hopefully stay in perfect tune constantly, but who knows if it would really work unless you could fuck with it and make sure.
