What are some movies that you really love but alot of your friends and family hated or found boring?

I know it's an older movie, 1995 I think, but Apollo 13 is one of my favorite movies. Alot of people I talk to (friends and such) hate this movie. What's to hate about it? Ron Howard is a great director and it's definitely one of my favorite movies. I was just watching it again for the first time in like two years last night.

Another is The Terminal. There was a thread about it a few days ago. My friends constantly made fun of how dumb the movie was, but I actually liked it alot. I wouldn't admit it to them because they'd make fun of me to no end..but I liked it.

Wolf Creek is the only one I can remember as of late. I remember people hating that so much, but I loved the realism of it and the mese en scene (That's "setting" for the less-educated folk ;)).

I liked both Apollo 13 and The Terminal. For some reason, nobody I know liked the Lemony Snicket movie, but I really enjoyed it.

Ahh there's another one. Everyone thought it was the worst M. Night Shalyman movie, I thought it was really different. Which made it good.

Cabin Fever, Hostel, The Hills Have Eyes, and Wolf Creek.......basically because horror movies are so hard to please everyone.

For my family......None of them liked Closer, Donnie Darko, or Garden State.....so none of them would probably be very popular on this website.

Mean Creek is another one. And Eyes Wide Shut

fuck yea, everyone hated that movie because of the ending.....but no one realized that that wasnt even waht the movie was about. The social commentary and human emotion in that movie is so fucking good. I loved it. Actually probably my 2nd favorite M. Night film besides Signs.

i love the movie Out of Sight, but i can never get anyone to watch it because j.lo scares them away. hopefully clooney's stock has risen enough for people to overlook that now though.

i love rules of attraction... very very few people i know like it. i think a lot has to do with the fact that it was advertised wrong... they made it seem like it was another american pie type movie when really it is far from that

Pretty much any movie by Christopher Guest is genius but isn't really appreciated by anyone besides theatre kids or other comedians which is a damn shame.

I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, but it was pretty good.

Closer. I feel less manly every time I say to someone I enjoy that movie.

(Mostly because Clive Owen is hilarious) Yeah, my one friend criticized it because it wasn't "realistic" enough...I walked away laughing. I mean, they spend the entire movie destroying each other, of course it's a little beyond realistic

Clive Owen fucking dominates everyone in that movie...and it's a damn good cast.

If you liked CLive in that, see Inside Man, he is awesome in that too

Closer is the shit. I personally got all of my friends into that movie. The most popular scene among us is the scene where Jude Law and Clive Owen have cyber sex. Classic.

My answer is Batman Forever. and Resident Evil.

I loved the Village but so many people were dissapointed with it because they were expecting an all-out horror film cuz it was advertised that way, even though M. Night never does that stuff. He does psychological thrillers.

I have yet to see this but judging from the title, it's probably stupid, haha. I'm sure it's good for a few laughs though.
