Pretty high school girl from Pennsylvania, moved to Nashville, became a star overnight, sold millions of records, and had the number one single for the most consecutive weeks in 9 years or so, as well as the first artist to chart two albums on the year end top 10 charts in the history of Sound Scan.

Right. Yeah, pop's not usually my thing, but Taylor caught on with me. And, a lot of the songs are very teenage girl-esque, but like I said, some lyrics are relatable, and do hit home ("The Best Day" reminds me SO much of the day I moved out for college, and growing up, etc.) So, I find just enough relatability (not a word) in her songs to enjoy them, and the catchiness compensates for whatever relatability the song lacks.

She was also in the Hannah Montana movie for a scene, as well as Jonas Brothers 3D movie. But yeah, unlike the majority of Disney acts, Taylor was signed onto a "real" label for her own material, something the Disney girls can surely never say, haha.

I'm not a fan of country at all, but I love Taylor. Like I said, its more so pop with country tendencies. No different than having a pop guilty pleasure. I actually like her because of my girlfriend, haha. She had an extra ticket to the show, and I agreed just to be a good boyfriend, but then I got both albums and fell in love. Sure the relatability is low, being as her songs are geared at teenage girls, but they're very well written and well crafted pop songs. Also, if you listen hard enough, there are some relatable things in some songs.

I agree. Fearless is perfect from front to back; not too many slow songs, not too many upbeat songs. The lyrics are better, her voice is more polished, and the songs overall are just more well written. I still enjoy her debut, though.

I don't dislike any songs from it, but a lot of them are average pop songs that kind of get lost in the shuffle for me. The highlights (like "The Best Day" and "Fearless") are great, though.

Pictures will always be the fore front of this thread, for obvious reasons, haha. She's just too damn cute.

But, I can see where the average listener may not enjoy all of Fearless, but for me, it grew on me immensely. I rarely skip past anything.

Of course, I also really like her as a person, she's pretty funny and seems down to earth. I also don't get how she has had so many bad relationships, she seems like a great person to be in a relationship with {non homo way hahaa}.

Off of Fealesss, I could name basically most of them, but I think my favourites are White Horse, Fifteen, The Way I Loved You and Forever & Always.

I'm on my sidekick, so I can't multiquote, but in reference to the above discussion, yes since i'm a 19 year old guy, the relatability is low. But, in the pop I enjoy, and most pop for that matter, the relatability is always or usually low. So, I just like Taylor for the hooks, how the songs are written, and the lyrics are very good, tell great stories, and have lots of emotion (even if they're not aimed at me). I can still tell that the lyrics are very meaningful and say a lot. You don't need to relate to understand that, to make a long story short haha.

And yeah, favorite songs probably "fearless." "Hey stephen," "you belong with me," "the best day," "our song," "i'm only me when i'm with you". But, honestly, I could listen to both albums front to back. And to anyone that thinks they won't enjoy the first album, I recommend reconsidering. Its definitely more country than fearless, and slower and not as catchy, but the songs are growers, and still are very interesting. Its also fun to see where she came from and how much she progressed.

I agree that Fearless is better than her debut. I almost never skip a song when listening to Fearless, but there are a few songs on her debut that I'm not really a fan of.
My favorite songs are probably Forever & Always, Breathe, Fearless, Fifteen, Hey Stephen.. basically everything. :)

I think its worth saying again. I'm overwhelmed at how many people actually like Taylor (for looks and/or music) on this site. I started to like her music and her out on a whim, being as I don't like much pop music, but I instantly fell in love. Just something about her that makes her soo much better than her competition. But yeah, just wanted to say its awesome at how many different people come in here to post (I know not as many as others), but its surely a surprising number at how much a minority Taylor's music is on this site. Its awesome to see that people that do appreciate good music (you must if you come to AP regularly) also appreciate Taylor. Yay for diversity!
