Both indies and majors are drooling over the chance to put out Lydia (http://www.myspace.com/lydia)'s next record.

THe Militia Group.
Exactly what I was thinking; such a perfect place for them, especially after recent signings like The Appleseed Cast, Brandtson and The Jealous Sound. That's where I'm putting my money and am hoping for.

They actually literally just got a booking agent; so, you can expect them in that vacinity and the east coast very soon.

lydia - incredibly underated.
straylight - incredibly overated.

the only good songs straylight ever recorded were those off the 6 song demo + your name here. the rest is incredibly boring.

lydia, i don't care which label as long as they don't change their style to suit a major if thats what it's to be. and i hope vocals are up to marias standards.

Tim Harmon did amazing things for this band to bring them up!
I can see them with either Vagrant or TMG.
Best of luck to them!

nothing...and i seriously mean NOTHING can ever make up for aiden. lydia would probably have to forget everything they knew about being a good band if they wanted to be on victory.

while I'm all for going to an indie that won't mess with their sound, which is awesome as is, it would be pretty cool to see these guys sign to a major, keep their sound and style, and just blow the fuck up. i think their record was amazing and i think they could be huge.

I hope however signs them treats them well and hooks it up.

I also hope Loren gets his own signature SRH shirt designed for him so me and all the bros can wear them.

I just recently got into Lydia, and I'm kicking myself for not getting into them sooner. I fell in love with their cd, it just fits the mood I have been in recently.

But anyways, I'll say The Militia Group, along with everyone else

Straylight Run overrated? Did you even listen to the last EP they recorded.....probably the most growth a band has had from their first album since Brand New's Deja...

I hated Straylight Run's LP...but their EP is incredible

back on topic, I'm going to go with something other than Militia and say Tooth & Nail (but that even seems a bit much) for Lydia... they still seem a bit too young as a band for Militia just yet.

edit: why is this band even being compared to Straylight Run......if anything this is The Spill Canvas 2.0.... EXACTLY like the Spill Canvas (vocaly that is)...

the first time I heard them I actualy thought it was a side project of his...

Lydia didn't play last night because their singer was sick, but they were at the show. And after wards this guy from fearless and Loren(from Lydia) were jokingly fighting about signing Lydia. But I guess it's a "you had to be there" type of thing.

i have to agree with the others that already said the militia group. they just seem like such a good fit with the rest of the bands that are already on that label.

I was trying to figure out who the lead singer sounded like and I found it, the lead singer of Emberghost. He sounds EXACTLY like him and I think there are other bands that are MUCH better than this one. I don't think a major will do this. I think a label like The Militia Group or a East West Label or something like that. They are not major label material yet. They need to tour more and get a bigger fanbase first. You do not want them to sign to a major and not sell and get dropped in 2 seconds or less.

who knows.. but this bands definately is deserving.

it's not very folky, i know, but i could see the ambience of their previous album fitting well on a SubPop records album. it's kind of a stretch, but i can see it. The Militia Group would be the obvious choice, though.
