you'd think that a band with brothers of bands like nehemiah and dead to fall would be sweet. but all they sound like is a complete rip off of underoath.

i did hear that evan from nehemiah is filling in for them on singer for some dates.

what i don't understand is..

why hit the lights gets so much praise, hype, 10's of news stories a day on here when they sound like fall out boy, and these just get compared to underoath and put down.

I think I am the only kid from MN that isn't head over heels for this band, I think they are a bit hyped up. And yeah the guy that works at Zumiez in MOA is kick ass I have met him a few times n he's real nice. Too bad I just don't like their band that much at all.

I think they get compared and put down to Underoath because Underoath did it first, and the singer of FLL has an uncanny voice similarity to the singer in Underoath, which is simply unfair. Reasonably, if you like Underoath you should like FLL, just because it has been done before doesn't mean knew iterations or derivatives are worse, or better for that matter. If you like it, like it. If you don't, I guess you don't. In anycase being compared to Underoath should be flattering, and the fact that they do it so well shows promise and talent.

its not even a derivative, it sounds practically the same. and its not unfair if his voice sounds the exact same. his vocal chords have the possibility of sounding different.

underoath did it first?

uhhh... as much as i love uO, i have to disagree. they're not exactly "pioneers", they may be the first band to do it well and succeed with it.

and if you wanna make voice comparisons... We can do it al day and say this band ripped off that band. Really, we can.

who wants to start?
