An e-card for Halifax (http://www.halifaxrock.com)'s new album, The Inevitability of a Strange World, can be seen here (http://www.drivethrurecords.com/halifaxecard2). The e-card features clips from all the songs on the album; you can also pre-order the album through the e-card (the first 1000 orders come with a free shirt).

Sounds really good... can't wait for the real thing.

Edit: After listening to more songs... it sounds more and more mediocre.

I feel sorry that you think Houston Calls and Hellogoodbye are their "good bands."

i think houston calls is a good band. I grew to like their album. I consider hellogoodbye a "good band" because lots of people like them... and i think they put on a good show.

Is it just me, I can't find the pre-order anywhere.

Yep, I'm a sucker for free-shirts, plus it's the only way I'll get it in the UK before Christmas.

I thought Nightmare and Anthem for Tonight were typical 'Fax, similar to Writer's Reference - but does the rest kinda sound different to everyone?

You narrow minded prat. DTR have no choice but to stay with Sanc. It really is killing r&s to release Halifax's album through them.

What would you rather do, wait even longer for a release or get it as soon as possible? They are still searching for distro, but while they do this is the only way they can get income.

Some of the songs sound real promising, while others brush as me boring like the second song that sounded like Motley Crue. But I'll end up buying this album because the good songs outweigh the mediocre ones.

It doesn't look like DTR have put up the pre-order in their store yet, I couldn't find it anywhere either.

The second track 'Our Revolution' they have been playing live since the summer, and I really never liked it either. I'm 99% sure that track is going to be the first single from the album, and the track they are shooting a video for next week. Any song from their 3 song sampler would have been a better choice.

it amazes me how generic this band can be.

why do you feel sorry for them? hellogoodbye's album is coming out in the summer and will go gold easily. houston calls jsut releeased their album a fe wmonths back and they are doing great. self agaisnt city is goign int othe studio with a huge recording buudget as did halifax as did all the other dtr who recently recorded. you know nothing. and if you think these bands are the best and u leave out the early november and steel train and dave mellillo maybe your deaf. self agaisnt city and houston calls are awesome as well, but there is no reason to feel sorry fo them.

The only "joke" here is your poor grammar.

is it just me or do these songs suck?????

they should've sticked to what they had on their first cd.

It sounds a LOT like the ep.

Yeah I agree.

It pains me to say that each song on the e-card sounds samey. The intro's always have those whirling guitars. I'll give it couple more listens then we'll see.

It sounds alright... a 7/10

Track 8 (Better Than Sex) sounds like it was pulled straight off of the EP, but I enjoy it. There are also some good tracks. I'm debating if I should buy it or not.

My band played with Halifax in March. I really like their new songs. I mean they basically went in the same direction their music was already headed, but now they just do it better. Cant wait to hear the full cd.

Thats sweet of you to say. I know its killing them thats why they shouldn't put it out through sanctuary. Why do they keep getting themselves screwed with shitty distro deals? You hardly ever hear other labels always complaining about that. I heard something about them possibly getting distro through sony, i wonder why that didnt work out.

Don't get me wrong, i've always liked Dtr, but i'm just getting sick of all the excuses. Its sad to see them losing all their money, hopefully these upcoming releases do well. I'm looking forward to them.

Hellogoodbye won't go gold if they don't have their cd in stores.

i only noticed one other person say this....but they ripped off motley crue's "kickstart my heart" hardcore in the second song, and this genre blows anyway. drive thru releases the same crap they claim to hate. richard's myspace headline is "fuck scene hair, white belts, and bad screaming"...though i haven't heard any screaming yet on this cd, it'd fit right in anywhere in these songs, and i'd say the members fit that scene hair white belt part no prob.

Why does every band want to sound like Motley Crue/Guns and roses,I know this is probably what they spent some years listening too. That type of music was so fucking dull and was never for the right reasons
