I don't really see anything in that article that warrants them assholes. I'd be pissed off too if I made the final four and only heard about the cinderella story of George Mason. Those kids had a goal just like GM did.

so you hate florida because they expected to win and didn't feel about about beating george mason? Hi, welcome to sports. You must hate alot of teams.

i agree. fuck them for wanting to win.
I could care less about either of these teams.
I don't see there being much national draw with this matchup either. There aren't any interesting stories... no George Mason, no hurricane-ravaged LSU, no Jerome Bettis going home.

how about, is it possible for the ugliest man in america (joakim noah)to lead his team to the title? i find that storyline compelling.

how about the fact that it is the championship game in what has been one of the best and most interesting tourney's in a long time.

That doesn't mean there aren't 20+ teams the average joe (aka no ties to florida or california, like yourself) would rather see in the championship game than these two.

well that's always the case with any sports game. there are always other teams that people want to see...that's a given.

what are you smoking? this has been so boring besides George Mason. I don't remember the level of play ever being this bad before. Whether or not UCLA or Florida win, this will go down as one of the most forgettable national champions ever. I'm picking UCLA to win because they stepped it up last night, but LSU didn't exactly resemble the Fab Five. They were pitiful ..just like Memphis was and Gonzaga was in the 2nd half of that game. A Florida win would not at all surprise me because even though Nova played like a shade of themselves in the Elite Eight, they've pretty much controlled every game they've been in.
Regardless, the interest in this game (outside SoCal and Florida) is probably at an all-time low. I'm also willing to bet the ratings will be the lowest of any title game in the past 15 years. The only things people will remember about this tournament is George Mason and Adam Morrison crying.

how about no number 1 seeds in the final four...first time since 1980. UCLA and Florida aren't exactly small schools with no fans, they have plenty of fans all over the country, I'm sure. Maybe, just maybe, Gonzaga, Memphis, and LSU played terribly because UCLA made them. I love how no one wants to give credit to UCLA for winning those games but just that the other teams played terribly that night. Sure the 2 teams playing aren't going to draw the best crowd but I don't think it will be as low as you think.

are you on glue? Obviously there are always teams that people want to see a championship game that don't make it.
You don't think more people outside of florida/california would have been more interested if say, Duke or Gonzaga was playing? If George Mason made it to the finals?
I'm talking national appeal here.

that's exactly what I'm saying. I don't think california boy understands the lack of appeal of this game outside of his home state (and obviously florida).

if you actually sat there and really watched last night's game and the memphis game w/out your UCLA glasses on , you'd know that UCLA had little to do w/ how bad the opposition played. LSU and especially Memphis had plenty of chances that they just blew.
Did UCLA force LSU to shoot 46% from the line? No. How about 32% from the field? To a certain degree, maybe, but when you see they had just as many attempts as UCLA you can see that LSU had there chances. How about LSU shooting a big 0% from beyond the arc?? Not to mention, UCLA committed 17 turnovers ...17. That's a hell of a lot for a team who is in the national title game.
And the Memphis game? Well, that spoke for itself but I'll point out a few stats anyway. Memphis shot 31% from the field and was an awful 2 for 17 from 3 point range. They committe twice as many fouls as UCLA . Those are the only reasons UCLA won the lowest scoring game in NCAA regionals history despite only making 14 field goals and shooting 35%. They didn't win that game, Memphis lost it.
I'll watch this game just because it's the national title game, but the casual fan probably won't because it has no appeal. The only thing that might save it from being the lowest rated title game is the LA market if they watch in large numbers.

i'm not worked up, i just think you are totally wrong here. I'm happy for you and that your favorite team is playing, but don't try and convince us that this is a great matchup for the entire country because of it. I'll be rooting for UCLA cause I hate Noah, so we're on the same page there.

i was listening to espn radio yesterday and they think this could be the lowest rated national chamionship game ever. and i wouldnt doubt it at all. i wont be watching.
matt was talking about no number one seeds. people want to see good basketball, george mason was great, and i was rooting for them along with everyone else. but if duke, nova or someone was left, people would still have an inkling of interest. i think monday night raw will have more viewers than the game.

haha i could care less about this. I'm just letting you know that outside of your california bubble MOST of the country doesn't give a shit about this game.

I doubt I'll watch it...not even interesting matchup wise...
Only reason I'd watch it is to see Noah tear an ACL
mostly for this:
Noah, who has morphed from confident to borderline cocky in this tournament, seemed especially well-suited for that role. He blew off team huddles when he wasn't in the game, staying seated on the bench out of ear shot. And when LSU fans chanted "Tiger bait!" at the Florida players when they left the court, Noah responded by aiming an exaggerated Gator chomp their way.
what a dick

That's a truly classless statement.
And the chomp is nothing. How is it dick to respond to taunting from an opposing SEC school that obviously don't get along, especially fanwise for many years? That statement just makes my stomach curdle. Wishing bodily harm upon someone you know nothing about is disgusting in my book.

It's an ongoing joke from the NCAA thread...
And, since he wouldn't even joing the TEAM in the huddle, yes, he is a dick...it's ok to be cocky, but he is FAR from good enough to put himself above the team.
Note, he wasn't even the leading scorer in that game, Humphrey took that, and Horford led in rebounds.
Even Reddick and Morrison, who make Noah look like a 6th man, don't put themselves above the team like that.

i hope noah goes to the nba early, so he can fail. good luck having success without any kind of jumper because guys his size are the norm at the next level.

but yeah, that was dick on his part for the sitting out of the huddle. I mean come on look who is dad is,Yannick Noah is like one of the coolest dooders ever( just google up his bio if you don't believe me and some of the awesome shit he's done), and his mom is smokin hot, she was like 6 the in the ms. universe(but you would never tell by noah's goofy features). Those alone should offset his faults. Sorry, i'm dumb and new to the sports forum. ha.

well I don't usually talk too much about college basketball until the tourney because I don't usually pay attention to it too much. UCLA has always, since I was born, been my favorite college team. It is my dad's as well and it is like 45 min from my house. I grew up watching and liking them. Don't worry, I don't join bandwagons.

I'll forgive him when they put his mom on TV as much as they put Laura Quinn on during that Bowl Game.
