View Full Version : Best 3 bands in the 20th Century?

I reckon it's The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Radiohead.

The last two could be bias because I was listening to them just yesterday, but The Beatles are without a doubt one of the best, if not the best.

Aerosmith, The Beatles, and Led Zeppelin.
I would put Guns N' Roses 4th and Radiohead 5th.

Wouldn't they fall into the 21st century? Hahahaha. I was going to post something along these lines but you beat me to it.

1. Backstreet Boys
2. Milli Vanilli
3. Jerry Lee Lewis

Eh... I tried so hard to come up with three best bands of the 20th century. My real list would include The Beatles, The Doors, and Nirvana. Not necessarily the greatest musicians who ever lived individually, but, the influence of those three bands alone is widespread.

EDIT: And... I quoted the wrong person. It would've been the original post about Cobra Starship, Breathe Carolina, and Chickenfoot. Fudge.

Hahahahaha! I loved how they lip-synced until their careers ended at the 1989 VMAs when the track started skipping. At least their choreography was authentic, yet cheesy as hell. This video takes me back to when I was a toddler only knowing how to turn on Nickelodeon or MTV on the cable box.

R.I.P. Rob for committing suicide at a hotel in 1998. They'd still be together, dammit! Just kidding...

The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Nirvana - this is based on artists influenced by them more than anything.

Nirvana may be a reach but it was the best I could do for the modern era.

haha, yeah. pretty sweet career they had.

However, what infuriates me now is that, back then, when someone was caught faking their shit, their careers went down in flames. Now, lip-syncing, electronic aids, and whatever else makes an artist false and undeserving of a career is commended. It's so commonplace now that's it's spread to Warped Tour. About four or five years ago, Ashlee Simpson was caught lip-syncing and nothing major really happened. Fast forward to more recently, we have some fantastic "artists" making an impact on today's youth. I'm not going to name-drop because I'm sure most of you know who I'm talking about since this site has seen a lot of talk about these people.

The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana. Not a huge fan of Zep or Nirvana (I know, kill me, right?) but I won't deny that they changed the way music was made and/or thought of.

Isn't this the same essential question as "Who's the best 3 bands ever?"? I can't name any bands in the 19th century and the 21st is just nine years old.

Yeah. Their 3 or 4 worthwhile albums really make an unbeatable case for them.

They have at least 5 way more than "worthwhile" albums, 3 more than "worthwhile" albums, 3 wortwhile albums, and 3 slightly less than worthwhile albums.
