Fall Out Boy Secret Show

After The Hush Sound (www.thehushsound.com) / Takota (http://www.takotamusic.com) / Jupiter (http://www.myspace.com/jupitermusic) show at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA, Fall Out Boy (www.falloutboyrock.com) band came out to play a short full band set (only four or five songs). The show was not sold out, compared to other secret shows that were held in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles.

i was pleasantly surprised at how tight they sounded at the knitting factory show in nyc. i'd seen em twice previously and they were sloppy but still so fun. nyc they were tight and again awesome.
playing secret shows alone doenst make them awesome
playing secret shows to 300 people when they know they can sell out a 9000 seat arena in the same market and rocking the f out and making their fans go home with smiles from ear to ear is what makes them awesome
im a 22 yr old guy who loves fob and i dont care. theyre the most fun i have at shows

yeah, i have to agree; any band that can sell out arenas with one big hit single and still plays smaller secret shows to satisfy their fans gets a thumbs up in my book. i wish more bigger bands such as taking back sunday still played smaller shows..

Actually they were once super underground, but its pretty sweet to hate bands that get success. Either way I think its fuckin awesome they are doing this.

and "Sugar, We're Going Down"

all Pete kept saying was "This is a Time Machine to 4 years ago!" and that couldnt have been more true. It was amazing.


Oh, and what the fuck. A secret show in LA? What show was that? The House Of Blues one with Jack's Mannequin? That wasnt secret...

I agree that they dont sound amazing in arenas, but last night they sounded AMAZING, with no sound check and not even their own equipment. they just took the stage and played.

It was secret, it wasnt confirmed until half way through the show that night. Yeah they hinted at it, but they showed up during the 3rd band just in time. I wasnt even told they were playing until 1 song before Hush Sound ended.

It was over 1/2 sold out by saturday, it just about sold out, the entire venue was full when hush sound played, it wasnt full when FOB came on because no one knew they were coming on so a lot of people left towards the end of hush sound to beat the traffic.

If that was sold out... then they must oversell the fuck out of every other show I go to there. There were a good amount of people at the show, but not nearly as many as most other shows I've been to at Chain.

tbs is playing greene street in greensboro, nc. i might be wrong but i think that place only holds 300-500 people. tickets sold out in like an hour.

No, Fall Out Boy announced they'd be filling in for the Audition several days before the show, so it wasn't really secret. The problem was the show was already sold out by this point.
