Most of you know that the IOC is now backing rugby-sevens and golf as Olympic sports, I wanted to see what you all thought of this.

Personally, I still think it's silly that equestrian and ping-pong are Olympic sports and once again baseball and softball will be off the card. I think if done correctly golf could be interesting, might get some players that don't play in the usual tournaments (from the Asian countries and elsewhere). I don't really care either way with rugby.

Golf, done in an extended format (like a 36 hole tournament format that decides ranking, followed by 32 person match play) could be cool....I think a normal 4 day tournament would be pretty pointless as it wouldn't really serve to grow the sport in any way...and it'd only be cool cause we'd get to see courses in really random places of the world.

And rugby is one that should have been in already...its already an international competition to begin with, so if sports like Soccer are in, Rugby naturally follows

i'm sort of skeptical on golf, but rugby is great to see. would have liked to see squash get in there as well.
