Anybody else psyched for this season of Hard Knocks? I'm not a Bengals fan, but I think they make an intriguing team - you have Chad Ochocinco and his endless antics, Carson Palmer coming off a huge injury, pillsbury dough boy Andre Smith holding out, Marvin Lewis on the hot seat...lots of good storylines. I am curious as to who the longshot rookies are that they follow closely. The preview video definitely has me stoked (http://displacedbrett.wordpress.com/2009/08/12/hbo/), and I just turned my HBO back on this past weekend. Should be fun, if a little less over the top than the Dallas fiasco of last year.

Also, now that I have HBO again, I think I'm going to finally get around to checking out True Blood. I've posted this elsewhere on this forum, but I'll ask again - do you think this is a show I can just start in the middle of the season or do I have to go back and rent season 1 first for everything to make sense? Oddly enough, despite all the recomendations, I only thought to check this out again because as I was watching TV the other day, I heard Pigeon John's "Brand New Day" and when i turned around it was an HBO promo ad and the first thing I saw was a a True Blood clip...i guess that's the universe telling me it's time to tune in.

I just want to see Chase Coffman. I know he got railed on in the last episode.
