Aagghh
The original makers of Blair Witch Project are gearing up to do a proper sequel ten years after the release of the first. Can't believe it's been ten years already, anyways this is bound to be miles better than that terrible rip off sequel they did.
There's more details here! (http://www.xtaster.co.uk/publiccontent_article.aspx?id=8141)

Can't wait!

but the second one was nothing to do with the original creators, the film company just made it without any input or support from them.

The first one seemed like one of the worst movies ever made.

This would be great, the original is underrated

I thought the first one was really great being that it was kind of crappy as horror movies go, but really fucked up once you knew the story behind what they did to the actors. Honestly, a "true" sequel to it seems like it could have a lot of potential.

I don't get how it was crappy?

I think when it comes down to it (At least for me) the first half of the movie was just kind of boring and then when it came down to actually being scary the movie wasn't. It was freaky as hell, and strange; but not scary. But I guess I should explain that I used crappy in a positive sense because I love B-rated horror movies and they all tend to be somewhat crappy.....in a good way.

that wasn't done by the original creaters, they were producers in name only.

there's tons of good genre movies coming out, that doesn't mean a sequel to one of the greatest non-budget horror movies ever isn't worth mentioning.

I haven't seen many non budget horror movies, so I can't really compare Blair Witch to anything, but to me it seemed like it was all hype, I didn't think the movie was very good

UHOH. You know what happens when you make assumptions....

Sorry, I have to be THAT guy. But yes, most sequels do in fact suck.

Never heard the story behind it, what did they do to the actors?

Also, this will probably not be any good.

It was a pretty cool movie back then, I remember watching it with this girl at her house one night. I was into it and then at the last when its going down she shuts off the tv and takes her top off. Blair Witch gets people laid.

generally that's true, especially nowadays. just don't be too quick to knock this one because of Book Of Shadows.

it wasn't for everybody. I remember seeing it in the theater and being completely awestruck, while the dope behind me just kept bitching about hte pace. obviously it wasn't everone's cup of tea.

America has actually been a hot bed lately for 'non' (i meant no) budget horror films. The Signal was made on $30,000 and was by far the best American horror movie released in '08.

The first Blair Witch wasn't bad I thought. The marketing campaign behind it and promotion, the faux-documentary style, I liked it. I don't see how a sequel will work. I just remember that kid sitting in the corner looking like he was taking a piss at the end thinking "His last moments and he's pissing himself. What a shame."

The ending to the original is still one of the scariest scenes I've ever seen in a movie. Read the true story about the guy who murdered all those kids and brought them down the basement 2 at a time, making one stand in a corner while he killed the other, then relate it to the ending of the movie. Well done.

The marketing was absolutely genius. I remember when it was first released at Sundance, MTV did a news article about it. It had to be at least a year before it actually hit theatres. Then the whole fake documentary on Sci-Fi channel was awesome. Quite a few people actually believed it was real. I, along with most people, had never seen anything like it so it was very exciting to watch on the big screen.

I finally just got around to watching the first one in a serious manner.

As much as I tried, I just couldn't take it seriously.
Not thrilled for a proper sequel.

However, A Nightmare on Elm Street...

That's what got me. The end, when they go inside the house and start freaking out is just scary as fuck. You see the little hand-prints all over the walls as they're running around, then when they go inside the basement.... damn... that shit freaked me out. Most people probably didn't pay attention to the explanation of that backstory at the beginning of the movie or just forgot about it by the end due to the slow pace. But that shit was fucking tense at the end cause you're like "Oh shit... all those kids who got murdered! They're inside the house where it happened! Shit!" Man, what a perfect ending.

I'm actually pretty stoked to see a sequel. Wonder what they'll do with it. If they pick up right from the end of the first or what... Interesting.

"We've thought about doing a film that takes place in the late 1700s and looks like a [Stanley] Kubrick movie with gritty looking people and lighting.

"But now, we're thinking about going back and and seeing what happened directly after the first film finished.

"I think it will have some kind of video element in it, but it won't be a first person hand-held movie."

With the fate of the original characters an unsolved mystery, it is unlikely the actors will also return for the film."

Shit yeah!

How can they make a sequel?

originally it was supposed to be a prequel, explaining the origins of the Witch. A few years back they talked about a story that would involve family members trying to retrace the path of the three from the original movie.

The new report is that it takes off where the last one left off, which means a guy standing in a corner facing a wall! I bet it will have something to do with the individuals who found the tape. Either way this is about the 5th time they talked about restarting the series. Nothing will likely come of this new spanish report.

The end of the first movie still scares me. I saw book of shadows when I was seven and I thought it was real like the first one. Yeah messed with my head for a while lol.
