Buy Saves The Day (http://www.savestheday.com)'s new single, "Eulogy," on iTunes (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=137056251&s=143441). The track comes from the band's new album, Sound The Alarm, which hits shelves on April 11th.

Finally a song off a record used as a single that features what the rest of the cd sounds like and ISN'T one the first three tracks.
Great song.

good song, but dying day would have been a better choice

Musically this album destroys. However, I have to say that the vocals suck. Easily his worst vocal performance.

i think they're both pretty perfect single choices.. eulogy just has this insane buildup to the chorus that pushes it over the edge, i think it's a great pick

I actually think this is one of the weakest songs on the album. I really like the cd alot though.
I still like Through Being Cool more though.
i think this is a good choice, although i think bones should be the next one

gonna have to disagree. i can hear the desperation in his voice for much of the album, it matched thematically with the lyrical content and gives the record a new dimension. it's nice to hear him sing with some passion, especially after the robotic melodies of in reverie.

I really thought Dying Day was going to be a sure shot single. Oh well, this one is a good choice as well, but is a little more like a second single than a first (i.e. At Your Funeral vs. Freakish) I love the album, Bones is a really great song as is "Say You'll Never Leave" and Shattered has a sick ass bass line.

one band i've never got into despite trying to many times is saves the day. their last cd was horrible and i don't really like the new one. at your funeral is the only song where me and std clicked.

Well.. let me clarify. the reason I think his voice sucks on this one is the way he holds his notes.. it's like he is purposely holding his nose and being whinier than ever. I just miss his vocals from Stay What You Are. His vocals have become irritating.

It's weird how the three songs mentioned in this thread are easily my least favourites on the album. Bones, Eulogy and Dying Day are the bottom three in my opinion. Especially Bones, I don't like it nearly as much as the other songs. I love so many of the songs on this album I can't choose favourites though. If I was going to release three singles, I would release Delusional, Don't Know Why and Sound The Alarm in that order.

I don't think the word "robotic" is the most apropriate for In Reverie. those melodies are anything but robotic...

I compeltely agree. There are some wonderful melodies on In Revierie. Unfourtunately, bad production, poor lyrics and uninspiried arrangements make them difficult to appreciate.
I also agree with what some people have said about his voice not sounding so great. One problem I've always had with STD is that Chris' voice really can sound whiney from time to time. Sadly, on this album, they are whiney pretty much the whole time. HOWEVER, he's doing it with a purposfullness that I think makes up for it somewhat. Still... there's a depth missing to his voice that you can hear on earlier recordings. I'm not sure if it's the way he's been singing since he "learned how to sing" or just the way the vocals are recorded. Eiither way, it's a real shame because the rest of this album is fucking sick.

I really, REALLY like this song. I'm honestly extremely pleased with the four tracks I've heard so far. Stay What You Are is one of my favorite albums of all time, but it didn't grab me right when I heard it. I know this album has been compared to Through Being Cool by everyone, and I have to admit it really grabs me like that album did.
P.S. Nice falsetto note in "Eulogy."
I LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEE EEEEEEEEE this song!!!!!!!

great choice if u ask me. probly my favorite of the songs ive heard so far. all of the songs ive heard just go to show that saves the day is still on the top of their game and continue to reinvent themselves better than any other band out there.

I agree it's a great album! I've only listened to it 2-3 times so I can't wait to absolutely fall in love with it like I know I will. It's definitely another new sound for them...but not as big a step as In Reverie was. And as for it being short...it is the longest STD album to date.
