Magnolia is a brilliant film, but ultimately it's 3 hours long and not as user-friendly as Fight Club. I love American Beauty though, I think it deserved the Oscar.

All I have to say is Paul Thomas Anderson is easily one of my favorite directors and one of the very best around at the moment. Every single one of his movies is worth seeing IMO and like a fine wine he just seems to be getting better with age.

I voted for Magnolia. Although I also enjoy Fight Club, it's not my favorite David Fincher movie. Oscar went to the right one although Magolia is just as deserving but I guess there can only be one winner.

Neither. American Beauty is clearly the best out of the three. Fight Club is amazing, but simply not as good as American Beauty. Magnolia, while brilliantly directed, filmed, and acted in most points, lost direction after about two and a half hours in, completely losing my interest, wondering why this movie had to end so sub-par.
