Live Fenix TX Performance / 3 Headlining Shows

Fenix Tx (http://www.fenixtx.com) recently took some time out from writing their new, yet to be titled album to give a special exclusive performance to Rehearsals.com (http://ww2.rehearsals.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060218&content_id=1019&vkey=news&fext=jsp). The band will be doing 3 Southern California headlining shows in April to debut a few of their new songs; the dates are below:
4/15/06 - San Diego, CA @ SOMA w/ The Lashes, GettyCity, and Payton March
4/17/06 - Anaheim, CA @ Chain Reaction w/ The Lashes, Near Miss, I Hate Kate (ex Zebrahead)
4/18/06 - Hollywood, CA @ Troubadour w/ The Outline, Near Miss, and Hope Republic

Read denver harbor's myspace and stuff. They'll still be alive. Either way its just Will writing the songs. I doubt it will revert back to Fenix TX and abandon the mature Denver Harbor sound.

no not really, its watered down. all their older material had a lot more kick to it. denver harbor just seems like uninspired rock

I personally think it had a lot to do with Trombino's production, but if you feel that way, oh well. Did you listen to the whole cd?

i think i listened to like 3/4ths of it. I like parts of it, i think the vocal melodies are strong, its just i thought something was missing i guess.

Fenix TX was one of my frist fav Drive Thru Bands (along with Midtown) and Im sooo excited to hear that they got back on the road and are now recording. I love the self titled and think its 3 times better than Lechuza and Denver Harbor might even be better than Lechuza. Dont get me wrong...I love all the albums, I just hope the new material is like the old.

I felt like the songs that came after the original EP were a lot stronger and more diverse. Will showcases his cool guitar style in The Ride. Xenophobia hits you hard in the beginning. All I Want should have been left acoustic. Plus, I can listen to the last 4 tracks on Scenic all day.

Hell yeah, Fenix tx owns. I have already seen them twice since they came back.Once with Allister and once with Unwritten Law. They were great as usual, but some new material is definetly needed. I have always been a fan, but after listening to their albums 1 billion times i have grown tired of the same old tunes. I agree with the guy above me, the S/T is their best album. Infact I don't know anybody who thinks denver harbor or lechuza is better than the S/T. I hope that they can make something similar to their older material. I have heard DH was basically a 3rd Fenix Tx album, and that depresses me. DH was OK, but nothing compares to the S/t type material. Ihave been a fan since about 1999. Even after all these years when I get in a Fenix Tx mood I can still play the S/T front to back! GO FENIX TX!

I love this band. I'm so excited their writing a new album. Lechuza is an amazing album along with the self titled, I don't care what anyone says. If Ilan Rubin is the new drummer, that just makes it more amazing. That kid got mad skills. He's amazing. Fenix is sounding amazing on that video!

does anyone remember the band F.O.N. that ilan used to play in way back when? i remember seeing them at warped and he was the youngest kid on the biggest drum kit i have ever seen. he also took lessons from travis barker if you didnt know....

i love it and am hoping for a nice mix. Maybe they'll revisit old songs meant to be on either hte s/t or lechuza for that older sound. Denver harbor had Let You Go and Way Back Home which are two amazing songs.
Looking forward to anything new by them and expect some great tracks.

I completely agree. Damon was one of the best drummers I’ve ever heard, and it’s not Fenix TX without him either on guitars or drums.

Ilan is probably more talented. Damon wasnt even the original drummer. Plus whoever said they hope they hear songs Fenix Tx was working on for the follow up to Lechuza, all you have to do is pop in scenic. Will admitted he took some of those songs and tweaked them.

they replaced damon with the denver harbor guy recently i don't know if it's complete though. all i remember though was that they couldn't play ben, the most requested song, because damon couldnt get the beats right.

I wish they would play more stuff off the s/t live than they do, and when they play speechless the whole band leaves and it is just Will, I don't like that. I love the song NO LIE. I have the live album but I think it is just O.K. It is pretty much all lechuza, with none of the good s/t songs, with exception to (flight 601 that is a great song). Alot of people are anticipating a new Fenix TX release, I hope they do warped this year.

I understand where you're coming from but Fenix has matured past that s/t. They were tired of being blink/mxpx/sr71 clones. They distanced themselves with Lechuza.

First of all, Damon is nowhere near the drummer that Ilan Rubin is. Secondly, it doesn't really matter, because I don't think that Rubin is drumming for Fenix Tx. Either that or the webmasters for the Vater stick site are on crack.
