I know this guy's not relatively new news, but I found no threads about him nor any mention of him in the baseball thread.
I want to know what the baseball thread's vets think about him and his potential and predictions regarding his baseball future.

If you've never heard of him, here's a short summary from Verducci:
"Still only 16, Harper stands 6'3", weighs 205 pounds, has faster bat speed than Mark McGwire in his prime and runs so fast that he scored on wild pitches six times this season from second base. As a catcher he picks off runners from his knees, and when he pitches, he throws a fastball that has been clocked at 96 mph."

all i know is that the overuse of eye black is getting ridiculous in little league, and this guy isn't doin anything to help it.

ive secretly been rooting against my pirate team to come in last place so we get this guy.
but already being represented by scott boras and wanting between 70 and 100 million at his drafting....a little ridiculous.

he's definitely impressive but i think it's way too early to tell what type of major leaguer he's gonna be, especially if he's a catcher. if he sticks with catching you never know how warn down his body will get.

The kid is billed as flawless and that's far from the truth. I haven't seen a single video that shows above-average speed from him and his swing isn't perfect in the least. I think there's a decent chance he struggles in junior college this year.

He's great right now but he's got a long way to go in his life and career. I don't think its just gonna be a breeze through junior college but he could definitely be a star one day in the future. That video of him hitting HR's at Tropicana is fun to watch.
