Thursday is so much better.. talent wise.

Both of those bands are towards the bottom of this list in terms of talent.

Yeah, you definitely shouldn't have included Brand New.
With them in the poll I don't even consider anyone else. If you took them out, I'd have a tough time choosing between Talking Heads, The Velvet Underground, and Thursday.

Isn't it sad? Obviously I like the band but they're not that good.
I bet most of the people who voted for BN haven't ever listened to Sonic Youth or Talking Heads since they're not "scene"

Don't get me wrong. I love Brand New. I started listening to them when I was 16 or 17. I'm 20 now. It isn't like bands have some kind of age restriction. That's not what I was saying. Anyone, from anywhere, regardless of age can appreciate any band they wish. Some 15 year old kids actually do have decent taste, believe it or not! What I'm getting at is this... and I'm just making an assumption here... but it seems to me like a whole bunch of kids are jumping on the "OH EM GEE BRAND NEW IS THE BEST BAND EVAR!!!" bandwagon because it's apparently the "cool thing" to do these days. It's about the same as those kids who brag about how they adore the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc when they've probably never even listened to them for more than five minutes. I mean, they sell those bands' shirts at Wal-Mart nowadays! Gets on my damn nerves. It doesn't make you cool to namedrop well respected bands when you barely know what you're talking about.

Yes, well, I'm not like that. I just choose the most appropriate band of the ones listed. Brand New is not my favorite band. But I do really love them. The AP hype about Brand New did get me interested, but it's not like what you said.

I was just curious because you said the AP hype got you interested. I wasn't sure if you meant the hype for Daisy or previous hype. To be honest, I got into Brand New with Deja Entendu. A friend introduced me to them. I'm pretty sure the first song I ever heard was Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades. What was yours?

There's like such an air of respect for Brand New here. That's what got me curious. I think my first was "Luca" or "Degausser."

So you got into them with The Devil and God, huh? That's cool. What really got me into the band was Your Favorite Weapon. I love that album just about as much as Deja. I'd have a hard time picking one as my favorite. I remember singing along to songs like Seventy Times Seven, Jude Law and a Semester Abroad, and The Quiet Things No One Ever Know during my high school years. Their newer material is so different. It took me a while to get into it, but it's still amazing. I just miss those pop-punk sing along choruses they used to do so well.
Then again I've found myself singing along to Jesus on a few occasions. I could never stay mad at Brand New. Even when they go changing, I always find something brand new to love about them. Haha... couldn't resist.

Definitely. I won't know how I feel about Daisy until I hear the entire album. I'm not sure how I feel about "At the Bottom." It's alright but nothing about it really impressed me upon my first listen. Apparently Vin is writing the majority of the material for Daisy. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how I like it when it comes out next month.
Here's an interesting interview with Jesse (http://www.spin.com/articles/qa-brand-news-jesse-lacey?page=0%2C1) I just read.
