Fuck the Notebook, this is the greatest chick flick of all time. And what's better is that it is always on tv lately and I just can't stop watching.

-Ryan Reynolds is gold, can't go wrong there
-for a blonde, brunette, and ginger the 3 girls chosen are absolutely perfect
-it's pretty much How I Met Your Mother: The Movie
-I almost cried about 3 times watching it this time around

so so good

I've just seen it, because I had spare time and I was curious. It's a lovely movie, but nothing compared to Love actually, sorry.

I saw it when it came out and it was the movie that really turned me on to Ryan Reynolds. I liked him before, but after that he stole a piece of my heart. I wouldn't call it a chick flick as much as a romantic comedy though. Still, I back this recommendation for anyone who is a fan of romantic comedies and Ryan Reynolds.

I love that most of the people that agreed with this post are guys. And to add to that number - fantastic movie.

I would not call this a chick flick - this is just a very well done romantic comedy.

The pretend proposal in the balcony with Reynolds and Isla is the single greatest scene in all of film .

That scene definitely gave it away for me. I knew it'd be her.

Anyway, I absolutely love this movie. It's great.

So I'm not alone in liking this movie.

Not so sure about a chick flick, but it certainly is a great romantic comedy. I normally find myself watching it whenever it's on. Which is often since all the movie channels keep showing it for some reason.

But like some others are saying: Love, Actually > Definitely, Maybe.

Wow, interesting to see all this love for this movie. I'm a fan of chick flicks/romantic comedies but this never seemed appealing to me for some reason so I've always just passed it over.

I think I'll check this out soon.

For me the movie wasn't about Ryan Reynolds finding the love of his life or whatever, it was about Ryan Reynolds and his wife and mother of his child splitting up. The '...and then he got together with Isla Fisher and everyone was happy' ending was, I felt, unnecessary to what made the whole movie different and interesting.

Yeah I agree with you. It seemed to me like it was about Ryan Reynolds realizing what he really wanted in his life through telling the story to his daughter and her advice. He realized he wasn't happy and tried to make a change in his life to fix that. To me, saying that it would have been better for him to keep his life the same would sort of contradict the whole tone and message of the movie and of the role his daughter plays in the film:shrug:.

I just thought the end just took too sharp a turn to a happy ending for a movie that was mostly a man telling his daughter about how he met the woman he was divorcing. That's all.

just because he was telling his daughter about her mother does not mean that is what the movie is about

I realize that the movie isn't about the divorce and how he and her mother met, but that was the part of the story I felt was stronger. The love story between him and Fisher was fine up until the end, up until the end where all of a sudden after years of being out of each other's lives they just all of a sudden get together in such a hollywood perfect way. I have no problem believing that they would end up together, but not that quickly after not seeing or speaking to one another probably a decade or more, and I feel that degree of a 'happy ending' was unnecessary.
