celebrate dammit. Yep - A finger in the eyes of all those who said the war plan was flawed. It worked perfectly; less than 100 casualties thus far.

nobody doubted that we'd "win" the war, that is take down the regime and get rid of Saddam. Its how we handle ourselves afterwards that counts. The aftermath. its how many Iraqi's find themselves in a better situation, how many middle easterners decide America sucks and they want to join Bin Laden, and how quickly we can repair the damage Bush has done to our image in the eyes of other countries. I know school led trips abroad have been canceled at my school due to worries about how kids would be treated by foreigners, and over all safety precautions. Bush may have gotten rid of Saddam but I think he opened up a can of worms. Also, in this war that I see as unjust, just one casualtie is one too many, and not worth it.

Lots of people on the ULTRA left said we couldn't win it because the iraqi people would fight against us, which didn't really happen because the people want saddum out.
Also to say a war is unjust just because a FEW people might die is just stupid (not tring to insult ya here, i just lack a better term).
So your saying that no matter how oppressed a people are they should just live with it, because you dont like to see blood shed. By your example the soviets in russia would still be in charge, even though the people didn't want them and they ruled by fear, just because a few persons died.

I'm not saying its unjust because a few people died, I'm saying it is unjust because I honestly don't think all other efforts had been exhausted. This is the most powerful country in the world. It's easy to just go blow up some buildings and call the innocents that died tragic martyrs or something. But do you think thats how their families feel? Do you think the families of the soldiers that died feel like it was all still necessary? I think its very rare and sad time when a war proves to be just. In this age of advanced technology, there was probably some other road Bush could have took, but he was too lazy.

being lazy would mean he would have ignored the problem, not took action.

I was thinking the same thing. Everyone knew there would be civilian casualities going into this. I believe that no one wanted civilians to die. I also believe that the military tried their best to minimize civilian casualities.

What more could we have done? We went to the un and allowed there imspectors to look and they choice not to find any thing, so what else could we have done? And because we waited so long saddum was able to hide alot of the weapons in syria.
As for the families i would be willing to be that just about every family, seeing as most are military families, are incredable proud of there love ones and are smart enough to know that they died to give another person a chance at freedom, which most of us over here take for granted.
i hate when people say that they dont support the war because they dont feel like we arent going about it the right way, the sad truth is that there is no right way, we can send weapons inspectors in, but that doesnt mean shit, there are people that are a lot more intellegent than we are making these decisions, they feel that we needed to move into i iraq, so i am going to support our troops, and there decsion
