I've just been posting in the Fantasy Football League about this, but i figured it having it's own thread couldn't hurt. I've sent out 9 invites and gotten 7 accepts so far. I'm awaiting responses from 1more and a kid who was interested in the FF thread, but we need at least one more person interested for it to happen and three more to sign up for it to happen (if those don't accept their invites.)

Yeah because you were the sixth team entered. I've never been in a pre-selected draft league before, and I'm almost positive none of the AP pay leagues have ever been like that.

Last I checked there were 6 teams that make the playoffs. That's too many. It should be set at 4. 6 is fine if there's 12+ teams, not 10.
Also I think we should have 3 WR slots, not 2. But that's not a big deal to me.

absolutely not, portis does not equal pierre and parker does not equal stewart. i understand sending out unequal trades to start off trade talks, i do it all the time, and i was obviously willing to negotiate. but portis is a horse, everyone undervalues him because he's boring, but he ran for almost 1500 yards last year and has played in every game two years in a row. he started off last year as the best player in fantasy and only barely trailed off. not to mention he had 28 receptions last year too and 47 the year before (very valuable in a .5 ppr league.) pierre is unproven, starting the year hurt and reportedly starting the year in a 3 running back committee on a team that was 26th in rushing attempts and 28th in rushing yards. granted, he's the feature back in that offense, but bush is going to be the one catching the ball out of the backfield.

as for parker vs. stewart, they're both injury risks, but parker has the ceiling for 1400 yards and however many touchdowns (they haven't said that mendenhall is the goal line back) while jonathan stewart is starting the year hurt and obviously running behind deangelo williams.

i took portis right where he's been going in any other draft and parker 12 spots later, so it's not like i overvalued either player in any other sense either.

it also comes down to the fact that if i had wanted pierre over portis, i had two draft slots to do that, if i had wanted stewart over parker i had two draft slots to do that. even though both of those guys fell, i think they were valued correctly. had i really wanted a wr like santana moss, i could have waited on a backup qb.

I'm personally not a big fan of Pierre Thomas. I think people are overvaluing him a lot already. I'd rather have Portis any day of the week and he's proven. Sure he's getting up there in age but I think he's still got a couple more good years left in him.

yeah, to say my team underperformed this week would be the understatement of the century. i knew i didn't love this team coming out of the draft. i hope at least a few of them can pull it together. pretty sure i'm not getting 90 points out of rivers, zach miller and pats d. i just happened to play AP in both of my leagues this week, which was not too fun. i could still win the free league week with a good performance from fred jackson.

wow, not a single player on my team has double digit points this week. my other team nearly beat brandon's due to fred jackson's performance, but this one's not even close. this is crazy. i didn't want to say i hated my team coming out of the draft, but now i REALLY hate my draft, though I am glad i didn't trade for pierre thomas and jonathan stewart, wouldn't have made it much better. i'm pretty confident at least portis and rivers will bounce back and hopefully boldin, turner and parker can. at least they're all doing horrible in one week together.

I don't really have an issue with Housh as a player. It's just that I drafted him in all three of my leagues and I feel as though I shouldn't have. I didn't set out to get him but he always fell to me. I'd be into trading him for someone else or a packaged deal. If you are interested, throw me a trade back.

As for 85, I think Housh and Willis is the best deal I could make.

i have no idea what to do with my team, i thought parker was done, then he had a good game today. who knows what's up with portis. i obviously should have started marshall and bradshaw today, but marshall was terrible all year before today. fuckin a. even though i'll probably start 0-3 i feel like there's no way to know who's gonna do well or not this year even more than any other year. if you look at any expert's weekly rankings they're all completely different. so basically, i'm still feeling pretty confident. i've just got to reevaluate how to use my current roster.

jacobs slow start is clearly flukeish. he'll be finding the end zone plenty as we go forward. just classic sell high/buy low and that's how you win leagues.

I realize I sometimes don't send out the most even trades, but when I do I look at needs of teams and rarely will send out trades for the same positions.

To put that into perspective more, white was drafted 9 picks ahead of welker, rivers was drafted two rounds ahead of warner and rivers and white each have more points so far than warner and welker respectively. It would really be one thing to send this out as a "let's get the trade talks starting" type of deal, but to announce it on here as a "fair trade?"

I already admitted I've sent out some bad trades and that's one that I was just looking at team needs, you needed a better QB1 and I like Andre Johnson. Figured you might want to sell high on a WR because you're stacked with them. Also, I'll send out some bad trades to get talks going and you never know what will be accepted and what won't. There's absolutely no conceivable reason I would have taken Warner and Welker or even thought about it for a second, while Johnson and Rivers are both top 5 players at their positions.

It was a pretty ridiculous trade offer though.
