Today, TBS played at Macy's Herald Square for the launch of a new clothing line, D*Coded. They played (not in order): New Again, Sink into Me, Where My Mouth Is, Summer Man, Carpathia, Makedamnsure, A Decade Under the Influence, One Eighty by Summer, one verse of Bloody Sunday (U2 cover). I took videos of most of the songs (as well as some of the in-between banter): http://www.youtube.com/kmc724 (http://www.youtube.com/kmc724).
I was surprised (and slightly disappointed) at the lack of TAYF. Also, I think Adam said something about this being the first time they played Summer, Man? I don't really know much about TBS' past setlists so I wasn't sure if I was hearing him correctly.
The way the Macy's/D*coded staff had it set up was horrible. I got there at 12, and they wouldn't let you anywhere near the stage. Even when it got closer to 2, they were still really strict about letting people close. Finally around 1:40 they let us move up, but my view was blocked by business-people with overly-gelled hair that looked like they belonged at a social event in the Hamptons, photographers, and random kids who I guess were VIP or something. They didn't even move the clothing racks out of the way, either. All in all, I don't think many had a good view.
Also, if you were one of the first 100 people who bought D*coded merch, you could meet the band. My friend didn't want to spend money on something she'd never wear, and at first I was pissed at her. But then I realized she was right... I'm not going to PAY to meet a band, I'm sorry. I know it's probably not their fault, but still. Hopefully I'll be able to meet them at the Bay Stage show.
Was anyone else there?
