I thought it was Rochester, NY at first. I could have helped out then. Unfortunately I've never been to MN.

I wish him the best of luck with his treatment though.

would he be strong enough to go out after having surgery AND chemo? I hear chemo really wears you down. He's a crazy man. Best of luck on his recovery.

Myth and The Quest are two venues I know of.

Tell him to get in contact with SkaBum14 since he lives there, he probably knows a lot.

The Quest, First Avenue/7th St Entry, Triple Rock Social Club, and Fine Line Music Cafe have all of the smaller bands shows. Myth and Roy Wilkins will have midsize-but-not-ready-to-play-arena band shows (My Chemical Romance, etc...). Target Center and Xcel have all of the arena shows. Best of luck with the chemo.

ocdrum182tb is my aim. rochester has occasional shows. mankato has the whats up lounge which has this providence coming may 4th, not sure when you're going to be there. as for the minneapolis/st. paul area, what was listed below are great venues. you can also look into local shows at segue cafe, the garage, and the depot. st. cloud is alittle futher but that has the java joint and cheap thrills. let me know when you'll be down there and maybe we can throw together some kind of fundraiser. a close friend of mine went down there so that place hits home and i'll do anything i can to help. take care, dane

hey! your not supposed to go to dirty places after chemo! it doesn't just make you tired, it destroys your immune system so that you can (hopefully) build up a new healthy one, what kind of quack doctor do you have that said this was okay? Or are you just going to go anyway-if so you are insane-don't do it man no show is worth your personal health.

In loo (sp?) of venue suggestions why don't you ask people to send/email footage/pics of shows, music dvds, and cds until your 100%? I will send you a sh*tload of stuff, as I am sure many other kind kids on here would. please stay safe and be smart-good luck and I hope you make a full recovery.

I know nothing about chemo treatment and how clean places need to be, but Minneapolis has a smoking ban that renders the venues there pretty healthy.

that does not matter at all CRUSFRABA is right, you can not go into large crowds at all shortly after chemo therapy. i am a recovering cancer patient and it is a rough time, you will see. i do not mean to be negative but if you care about your health at all take my advice. take a month off from shows.

for some help on shows on certain dates, go ot www.pollstar.com (http://www.pollstar.com), and you can type in different cities around where you could drive, and it will give you a pretty good list of shows in the cities, dates, and what venues they are at.

Yeah - Minneapolis has a "smoking ban"

you know - the same smoking band that isn't even enforced in ANY of the venues there.

The Quest
The Myth (St. Paul)
First Avenue / 7th STreet Entry
Triple Rock Social Club
Club 3 Degrees
Fine Line Music Cafe
Dinkytowner Cafe
Station 4 (St. Paul)
Orpheum Theatre
Varsity Theatre
The 400 Bar
Roy Wilkins Auditorium (in the River Center, St. Paul)
Toybox (maple grove)

I've been to all of those and had a pretty good time. however, the dinkytowner kinda blows cause it's small, and the 400 Bar always smells like sweat.

Message me on AIM sometime for more info

I don't know man, maybe I'm just too used to it, but the venues are significantly more smoke free than before.

Personally, my favorite venues are the Triple Rock Social Club, Varsity Theater, Fine Line Music Cafe, 7th St. Entry, and the Ascot Room. I like Minneapolis's venues :)
