Ha ha, greatest joke ever...
Maybe I'm out of the loop but didn't they just pick a producer?

They just went in to the studio with Howard Benson I believe. If that's the case and Capitol really works at it, there shouldn't be a problem with getting an album out by then.

im callin shenanigans. thats a pretty damn quick turn around time if they haven't even finished it yet (didn't they just start?) my prediction: it flops because capitol doesn't have time to promote it (if they even try), they get dropped, and break up.

They are recording with Howard Benson and the dude is a genius, so if thats the release date Capitol gave Saosin, you can rest assured thats the date its coming out. Reason being, when a producer is given the initial deposit on the record which secures him to record the record, the schedule then goes into effect which is essentially, 1. pre production 2. production 3. post production 4. mixing 5. mastering and then off the press. The record will be done for sure before the end of June, it just wont be ready to rock your ears until a little later. Im looking forward to it.

I don't see why people think July 30th is so close... it gives the band 4 months to record/release it. (all of April, May, June and July).

What this band is finally going to release a full length?
Its amazing the hype they got from just that ep and a few other songs.

what's the biggest crowd this band has played? i saw them at bamboozle and there were like 60 people there. not quite major label numbers, if you ask me.

I think they played the main stage at Warped Tour last year on some dates but I could be wrong.

They did, and when they played in Montreal they had a pretty big crowd.
Anyways, I'm really excited for this CD. Can't wait.

Haha, what?!?!? The Pony was filled to capacity for Saosin at the Bamboozle last year, what are you talking about. They wouldn't let any more people into the venue it was so filled...my friend got shut out of the show.

Do any of you idiots have any idea how quickly recording goes? Escpecially when you've had years to write/plan every song already. All they have to do is go into the studio and rock out.

Yea seriously. They played late and everyone went to see them and watched A Thorn for Every Heart before. I couldnt get in to see it cause it was packed. They cut the power during their set cause people were getting crushed. The fire marshall threatened to shut the show down.

basically.
And chances are there isn't much editing for the producer since they've had so long to perfect each song.
So it should go by pretty easily and quickly.

i'm pretty sure that's when further seems forever was playing too, so their crowd was a little smaller, but it was definitely more than 60 people

for a band to have one EP released, and a new singer who hasnt really proven himself 100% yet....this band is crap compared to what they would be if circa survive didnt exist and they still had ant, but thats a really scary statement in its own too. love circa. love old sao. sorry cove. your new band is spoiled and doesnt deserve 1k a night.

they coheadlined a midsized venue (same size as the TAI/panic! shows in some cities) with anberlin, the show sold out, and 75% of the crowd left after saosin. they have a huge following.

anyway, this is absolutley amazing saosin getting their full length after 2 EPs and 3 years.
if you don't think 3 years for writing and about 4 months for recording a 14 track album isnt enough, You gotta hear about the Clash's 36 track, triple album Sandinista.
