I didn't mind everyone rooting for them when the were in the World Series, but now a bunch of people pretend they've been liking the Sox since 1918 and it's borderline annoying.

maybe its just a jmu thing then because i still see more sox hats than i ever saw frosh year and the first two months of sophmore year.

and i went to a party with my yanks hat and people made fun of me but still could not come up with a good argument.

therefore i still stand by my last statement.

and what do you call all the yankees hats everywhere from about 1996-2003? It goes both ways. I still see Yankees hats all over Boston but its usually only people who root for them cause 50 cent does.

It truly is sickening. It's like the Packers getting rid of Lambeau Field or the Knicks imploding MSG. Some stadiums you just leave alone, and Yankee Stadium is one of those.

this is why i love the new sox ownership. instead of tearing it down, they are making it a modern ballpark w/ all the charm of the old fenway park by doing some massive renovations during the offseasons. Supposedly, by 2012 (Fenways 100th anniversary), the renovations will be done and Fenway will be state of the art. Of course, ticket costs continue to raise though.

it also doesnt hurt that virtually every game sells out right away. the demand is pretty damn high, to say the least. low supply, high demand ...the owners can have a field day.

Still adding a few thousand seats woul not hurt at all. Add the seats, keep ticket prices there, maybe lower them. The revenue generate from concessions of those few thousand would be worth it. And you know every seat would still sell.

yeah, they could make fenway park a 75,000 capacity venue and probably sell everything out. The demand is that high.
