View Full Version : I'm Closing Some Threads

Testing 1,2,3...

I talked with another moderator earlier this evening debating on what to do with un-needed threads. I'm closing the Yankees, Red Sox, or any other team related thread. Keep it in the MLB discussion. I'm not deleting them in case the MLB is too crowded. That doesn't mean go in there and be a dick so it gets opened back up, that'll come with a slap on the wrist. No more Player A > Player B threads, etc.

Also, no new Bonds threads, unless a ground-breaking story comes, keep it to the MLB discussion. When/If he breaks Ruth's record, sure make a post, that's huge.

I don't think this needs much explaining. This is just a trial, we may say fuck it and just let it go.

THe Philly thread was locked too, if we have a thread for every city with a sports team, it'd be crazy.

Pujols made the Phils his bitch ;)

Resticky the Champions League thread. i really can;'t understand why that was unstickied.

I feel dirty talking about making things sticky, but i guess my teenage mind is just perverted.

i closed the champions thread since its been up for seven months and only 600 replies. if it was updated as often and used by more people like the MLB, NBA, NFL, etc threads, id sticky it, but its just taking up top of the page space.

the sox thread would have had more replies in 6 days then that one has had in 6 months, so if he closes the sox one, the champions one should be closed. personally, i say they should all be open since its hard to fathom a thread about anna benson being more worthy of space then either of those.

also caleb, the brewers thread is still open.

I'm quite offended by this. This is an international competition that lasts eight months and takes place over all eight of these months. The finals are as weezer182 said in May. The second leg of the quarterfinals were this week and the semis are in two weeks. Also, the NCAA bracket challenge is still a sticky yet that ended a week ago.

There is no soccer thread and there is already a baseball thread.

well there was a bigger audience for the sox here then the champions league apparently. either way dude, im on your side. i say keep them all open because this is a forum and its stupid to try and eliminate or discourage discussion.

i'm gonna sound liek a douchebag, but I'm pissed about this. Are you fucking serious?
Champions league is soccer. i dont see a fucking soccer sticky, but i see a MLB aka baseball sticky. I can understand why you want a red sox sticky, but your logic is stupid. Your sport already has a stickied thread, mine doesnt.
The Anna Benson thread is about a specific event in baseball that will be talked about for a day. Theres no reason for people to have to read the mineless trash about her divorce in the MLB thread, therefore she has a seperate thread that will be forgotten tommarow.

well sorry i sound liek a douchebag, but i really don't see the need for a Red Sox thread, but i do for Champions League. Then again, I have call Mannu a ***got more times than i can count at Yankee-Red Sox games, so perhaps I'm a bit biased.

...but it doesnt matter what you think is worthy of a thread dude, thats my point. this is a sports forum and as long as it deals w/ sports, who is to judge what is worthy of a thread or not? Especially if the standards arent consistent. That's all. A sox thread is no better or worse then a soccer thread.

Heres to hoping Bonds doesn't break Ruths record.

If the brewers go 162-0 I promise to change my name to whatever their mascot's name is/was. i'm too tired to remember it.

How about we change it from Champions League to just soccer in general. With the World Cup coming up that solves two things. Plus people can still talk about Premier Leagues and....the MLS?

There is already a World Cup thread floating around somewhere that tate is gonna make a sticky in June. I think a general soccer thread would be pretty anarchic and we would all just talk about the EPL and perhaps some random Champions League, but I'd way rather not give in and just have two threads (an EPL one for next season and a CL for the rest of this season and a new one for next). There are an assload of soccer threads on the main page right now which is basically my fault for just continuing my rants about Ronaldinho, Tottenham and why their isn't more diversity in the winners of any of the European soccer leagues.

I hate to sound somewhat dick here, but I've never seen you in the CL thread.

2. When has a team ever gone 162-0? Come back at the end of the season and we'll see where each team lands.
