Meh, I disagree. Unless your tattoo is "BLINK 182 IS MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME AND THEY ALWAYS WILL BE. PERIOD.", then I think you're fine. A tattoo can represent any time or belief of your life. Even if you grow out of the band (which most people with band tattoos will eventually do) you don't need to regret the tat. It just stands for a time of your life, an homage to your past, etc.

It took me 2 years to decide on what I wanted and on wheteher it wa the right decision but I have been listening to Blink since I was 9 and I am 20 now. They will always represent my adolescence and a very important part of my life that I never want to forget, hense the wording. And whoever said getting a Blink tattoo, or any band tattoo for that matter is "an idiot", I disagree. I got the Blink tattoo because they were the first music I chose to listen to when I broke off from my parents music, and they inspired me to really enjoy and appreciate music, as well as to learn how to play the guitar. Now, some 13 years or so after listening to them, I can play guitar, bass, and drums rather well, and I think them for that. They inspired me to do something I love and am very passionate for.

I was pissed about it at first because she was a minor and got some kid I hate to have a sketchy dude in a basement in Lawrence, MA to do it (who did a really bad job. Shaky lines, the words get smaller). So, yeah, initially I was mad at her because a kid who has been known to steal a teachers macbook and erase the birth of the guy's first child off it got my sister an illegal and poor tattoo off of some guy behind my parents' backs. It's not a good idea because band tattoos tend to be some of the most regretted tattoos eventually (except MAYBE lyrics, or Sherri Dupree getting her husband's band name on her. That's just a sweet gesture to her husband...unless they divorce). Removing tattoos is far more expensive and painful than getting one. Plus, I just PERSONALLY don't understand why someone would want a tattoo of something that tons of other people have. It's as if you just decide, "yknow, I'll google blink-182 tattoos and I'll just settle for whatever one looks the coolest."

It's not a good idea because band tattoos tend to be some of the most regretted tattoos eventually (except MAYBE lyrics, or Sherri Dupree getting her husband's band name on her. That's just a sweet gesture to her husband...unless they divorce). Removing tattoos is far more expensive and painful than getting one. Plus, I just PERSONALLY don't understand why someone would want a tattoo of something that tons of other people have. It's as if you just decide, "yknow, I'll google blink-182 tattoos and I'll just settle for whatever one looks the coolest."

Anyways, I was just saying I don't get why someone would get a band tattoo, and I won't get one. Just an opinion I shared on some forums where people tend to share their opinions quite frequently. I even said I don't like cringe and hate on it when I see a band tattoo-- I told you I think they look really cool. But, after awhile, I just think someone's gonna regret it. That's all.


Scroll up a few posts and you'll see my explanation. I got mine over 7 years ago (when I turned 18, not in someone's basement lol), and I haven't regretted it a day since. And even when I'm 60 and I don't listen to Blink on a regular basis (if at all) anymore, I'm sure I'll still play guitar (unless I get arthritis so bad I'm physically unable), and, as I stated above, I have Blink to thank for inspiring me to pick up that guitar. So no, I don't really ever see myself regretting getting a band tattoo. Even if there are many other people that have Blink bunnies as well.

Your "opinion" was that you don't understand other people's opinions on getting band tattoos, which isn't actually an opinion at all.

Then you spewed some gibberish that is the same gibberish that's been spewed for decades now about regretting tattoos and yadda yadda. As if you have any insight. Because of your expansive personal knowledge, right? Or is that just some feeling you hold based on your values that you continue to pass off as objective fact?

Do you ever think people maybe end up "regretting" getting band tattoos because their dorky brothers and friends decide it's a good idea to make jokes about it later?

How about this? People can get whatever tattoos they want and should never feel any pressure to explain themselves or their decisions to a bunch of jabronis on a message board.

Part of me wants to get the smiley face logo on my shoulder or something. They've been my favorite band for as long as I can remember, since I was 10 years old or so. Even if they're not always my favorite band (which I can't see happening), they've been such a huge part of me growing up.
I decided to do this. Getting it in three weeks. :-)
