i think speed dating is perfect if you are a decent-looking, average person since given the general consensus on the kind of people who speed date (sif-y but without the secret internet part) you'd probably be the hottest person in the room, and when you have 30 seconds to meet someone i think it's all pretty much based on looks

I'd like to do this if I ever end up in a new city or big city. It seems like it draws people that are open for a new relationship and that want to shop around a bit. If you meet friends through friends you end up dealing with a lot of the same type of people and you dont get variety, and it probably beats the nightclub crowd. It's so hard to figure out whether a girl is dating or not interested at a concert or nightclub, but atleast at speed dating you share that one quality that is being open to a new relationship whether it be long or short. I bet the people there are REALLY REALLY nice too and eager to meet you as well.
