will apparently announce his decision this Saturday in a press conference (today by East Coast standards).

I haven't noticed a lot of activity from Green Bay in terms of Free Agents...it'll be interesting to see where he goes with it

I hope he doesn't retire, but I expect him to, just becuase he has no sot of winning the Super Bowl this year.

yeah, and I figured with the lack of free agency movement by Green Bay, this was probably an early decision of jus that...that it's best to just end it

The Packers offseason has pissed me off like no other. We have so much $$$ but can't sign a big name FA? It's not like no one wants to play here, it's just taht Ted Thompson is a fuckin fool.

I know. It gets me really pissed off as well and I'm not even a Packers fan. They could've signed a few key players.
Sucks for him to go out this way if he does decide to retire.
Even if he didn't play so great last season it was still fun to watch, because he is one of the only football players whos heart is actually in the game and not the glamour.

Well, he should just stay with them. They have such an easy schedule.

i'd bet he's leaving. I don't think he'd call a press conference to announce he's staying ...

that press conference was a letdown. at this point, i really don't even care. i'd like to see him come back, but at this point i'm just tired of hearing about it.
i think if they'd have went out and at least made an effort to improve the o-line he'd have made a decision by now.

i'm starting to get the feeling, and people from around green bay would have a better idea of this than i do, that favre wants to return but he not unless GB does something significant. Could GB actually be holding out on making moves to try and get him to retire so they can develop Rodgers? Like I said, people around GB would have a better idea about that than I do.

I was suprised...i figured the media knew something if they were gonna make a big deal about it.
Turns out it was just the press gig for his charity golf event

i'm not from green bay, but i've heard that they're preparing rodgers to be the starter regardless of his decision. i mean, if he comes back, he'll be the starter, but if he leaves, they've already started treating rodgers as the main man. it's just a weird situation, cause their third stringer already left for buffalo, so if favre retires, they've got rodgers. who's left out there that could be a quality backup or starter if need be that the packers would actually go for?

exactly...he holds a press conference every year before this golf charity thing, and this year people got all bent out of shape, and starting whispering this and that like he was going to say something. He said he felt bad that people/news came from all over, but he never said anything about announcing his decision at the press conference.

on espn, they just said that both McCarthy and Thompson went to Vince Young's workout and that there's a chance they could take him at #5. That, to me, would be a horrible mistake.
Then again, I think any team that wastes a 1st rounder on Young is making a horrible mistake.

haha ..the mockdraft link there has Young at #9 to the Lions. That's awesome ...my guess is he winds up in Oakland though.
Btw, since when did Bunkley leapfrog Ngata at DT?

Well yeah he still doesn't know whether he's gonna stay or not. I agree with what everyone has mainly said.
The Packers taking Young would be retarded. I'd take Cutler over him. Seriously, Cutler could be the next Favre.
I think Vince Young is gonna be a hugeeeee bust. Kordell Stewart's better than him. But that's just me.

haha, i agree dude. i was just reporting what they said ... A.J Hawk makes the most sense at #5 I think, unless Mario Williams falls to them. I think Williams might end up being the best pro of this draft class.

If the Packers take any quarterback with the 5th pick, I am going to murder Ted Thompson.

I don't think I've heard anyone say they hope their team drafts Young. I find that quite funny given the publicity he gets.

I'd really like to see the Packers take Hawk.
My dad a huge packer fan (as big as you can be by living in New York, i guess), was so pissed by this press conference that he's been talking all day abouthow they should just cut Favre. he didn't know about the whole charity golf thing though, and neither did I.
