i have no problem with people who are SxE. but people who act like they're superrior for being straight edge piss me off. doing drugs or not doing drugs is a choice that everyone must make, it's common knowledge that there is a risk that comes with it and either you decide it's worth it or not. there's no right or wrong just different.

not all people drink and do drugs to try and be 'cool'. that's not my reason for doing it. I drink (occassionally) or smoke (rarely) because I want to. It's not like anyone at my school besides my friends know about what I'm doing anyway, so how would that be me tryng to be cool?

I've shroomed 5 times.

It depends on what you are eating, the quality of the shroom, and especially who you are doing it with

If the shit you are getting looks like it just came out of some guys shoe, don't buy it and don't eat it. Look for shrooms that have closed caps, because those will give you the most visuals. They are a bit more difficult to find.

You will get a really wierd body high that you won't find with any other drug, and if you take to much you won't like it.

Start off slow and take less and build yourself up. I think I took half an 8th my first time and had a really good time. Those people that don't like it generally take too much and flip out because they aren't used to the feeling.

And don't let people give you shit for doing it. Unless you are eating a large quantity of shrooms, ya ain't gonna die, and it has no long term affects.

There's also a huge difference in the amount you do drugs. I smoke occasionally to have a good time, and many of my friends do, too. We don't run around pretending we're hot shit for doing drugs. But then there are some people, and a couple of my friends, that just do it too much. Its not cool for them, cuz they're fucking up their lives too much, cuz its all they do, you can actually see the effects on them. These are the true stoners or drugies that aren't cool. They're losers because they're going no where in life.

I've never Xed up at shows and I've never called myself straight edge. I basically have the same objections to the idea of pushing your lifestyle on other people. Nonetheless, I made a personal decision not to do drugs or drink (ok, so I eat meat and fuck, so what?). sXe means straight edge. Back in the day Minor Threat had some songs (Straight Edge, Out of Step) that promoted what I guess would be called "clean living." Basically, the idea was no drugs, alcohol, or sex. I think veganism became a part because Ian McKaye practiced that as well. The 'X' is something that would get written on your hand if you were underage and therefore couldn't buy liquor. Straight-edge kids started doing it on their own, so it sXe became the abbreviation.
