So after 20 years and 8 albums, what's your favorite album from New Jersey's finest? Hopefully enough people will chime in and we might actually be able to have a debate on our hands. Mine has and will always be "How I Spent My Summer Vacation". It was just that pop-punk, fast, and aggressive sound the band needed after kicking Shal out and bring in Mike. To me this album is perfect, I can listen to it everyday without it getting old, and it's their definitive album in my opinion.
Anyone else?

It's ridiculous that this went unanswered. Too busy sucking off Jesse Lacey to notice, I guess.
Hopeless Romantic. Just a great summer record. But all of their albums are great for summer, all the way through the Gold Record.

Anchors Aweigh, closely followed by The Gold Record & How I Spent My Summer Vacation. I love the dark tone from Anchors Aweigh and with 'Sing Along Forever', 'Kids & Heroes' and 'I'm From There' it offerst the three best tracks the Bouncing Souls ever made in my opinion.

The Gold Record is probably second on my list, with either Anchors Aweigh or Hopeless Romantic third

This
I love the darkness theme that album sorta brings, it's their "emo" album in my opinion. "I'm from There" is hands down my favorite song of theirs next to "Punks in Vegas". Bryon actually wrote most of that album about his break up and his personal cocaine issues (see "Apartment F").

i will be honest, i have only listened to maybe 5 bouncing souls songs ever.... i've been meaning to get some of their CDs after i read their "oral history" in AP a month or two ago.
but this thread will help!

I agree with How I Spent My Summer Vacation, although the songs on the Anti-flag split are pretty sweet. They did a good job with That's Youth.

I still can't believe it's already been 20 years since they've been around.

My newest friend,
The Bouncing Souls have been my favorite band for the last 10 years. This band has gotten me through the toughest times and have been the soundtrack to my greatest moments. When my daughter was born 2 years ago, the only thing I could hear in my head was "Punks in Vegas" (from their split with Anti-Flag), "here's to the memories" was just going through my mind. I've seen this band over 20 times, they've introduced me to many more amazing punk bands who have opened for them over the years (Flogging Molly, Lifetime, The Arsons, Strike Anywhere, Roger Miret & The Disasters, One Man Army, Madcap...just to name a few). They're the most down to Earth bunch of guys outside the music and their music itself just cheers you up, no matter what the mood is, because it's feel good music about life in general. Do me a favor, as soon as you read this, go listen to the song "Kid" and tell me what you think, that's the song that started it all on Halloween night, 1999.

either hopeless romantic, or maniacal laughter, or anchors aweigh, or the gold record. but probably hopeless romantic.

The Gold Record. I just think it has a lot more substance than Anchors Aweigh or How I Spent my Summer Vacation. Not that I don't enjoy those records.
Hopeless Romantic is probably my fave. Hard to pick though.
