B: What can you tell us about the newest singer songwriter label, anything yet? Will there be any releases in 06'?
R: We will talk about the label when we are ready to announce the details. AP.net likes to print things way too early.

Sorry Richard! I love you anyways.

It's alright Jason, nobody really cares now and nobody would've cared when DTR released it either.

good interview. it seemed very casual.

also, I believe drivingthru leaked all the info by accident. AP was simply the messenger.

Sorry for getting you in trouble there, tate!

hmmm. I'll give him credit, they have had some good bands, but Socratic and Steel Train just aren't that great. Jenoah was great, but i don't think they live any longer. I'll be optimistic about this label if they get these cds out, because Early November and some others will sell hardcore and will help them alot and maybe they can return from the shit that happened with Geffen.

Still not sure about Richard though, he says he doesn't like to address the bullshit, yet he does that alot in interviews.

Steel Train and Socratic are both great imo.

Especially Socratic. Words can't describe how much that album has grown on me.

That was a pretty good interview. People read way too much into this stuff. If a CD is late there are a million other things you can do than stress about it and get angry. Like go see a movie. Or read a book. Or write a play. Or learn a new sport or hobby. Go on a roadtrip. Or look for Scott Culver on Myspace and send him creepy messages (that's what I do!). These will all make you a happier person. And before you know it, the CD will be in your hands and in your ears.

How stoked is America that House of Fools and Houston Calls (and Sherwood!) are on tour together this summer? I feel bad for you if this tour isn't coming through your town. See above for ways to get over it.

you gotta dip WAY back into their catolog. it's really hard to find their shit. A buddy of mine is a huge fan of theirs, and he's got almost everything they've ever recorded.

as for DTR - I do feel for them in the aspect that Geffen swooped all their bands.

there already are afew bands finsihign their deals, and waitign to be annoucned.i dont see how taking 10 minutes out of his time late at night to do an interview would make him to busy to sign bands.

this is why i dont believe one word that comes out of richards mouth. the dude lies thru his teeth

Richard does lie through his teeth. And even though he comes off as being "holier-than-thou" in interviews, he comes across even more that way on Instant Messenger when you're having a conversation with him. I think he's really bitter about how much DTR has messed up/been screwed over and he can't move on, I mean they say they are...I just think when talk shit about other bands, then in interviews, you play it down like you don't do that, it's not cool. P.S. He likes Ralph-Lauren a lot, the Drive-Logo colors match Ralph Lauren paint colors perfectly (I know b/c I checked it out when I was gonna paint it) and when I told him, he made it pretty clear that he liked those colors the best and that he likes that brand a lot. RANDOM FACT of the DAY.

i'm waiting for an interview that exploits the infamous walk-on-richard's-back that he makes all his bands go through. haha.

Besides that, I have nothing bad to say about the guy. He keeps it real.

Without reading most of the replies in what everyone else thought, I do believe it was a pretty informative interview. I've read a lot of interviews with Richard from DTR and it kept my interest. I do have a question, maybe someone can answer it. Why is it that Stephanie isn't ever interviewed? I'd like to hear what she has to say as well.
