Alright, I'll try my hand at this recommendations thing once again... lets see how it goes.
Josh Ritter (http://www.joshritter.com/) - The Animal Years has the unfortunate coincidence of landing on the huge day of April 11th, and because its not a "scene" release, not enough people are paying attention to it. If you like Bob Dylan and Sufjan Stevens, maybe you should give this folk singer a listen.
Moneen (http://www.absolutepunk.net/moneen) - Yeah, everyone else recommended them this week too. I was saving a recommendation for them for ages, expecting me to be the only one to be thinking about 'neen the week before the release. However, the greatness of The Red Tree seems to have made everyone at AP.net a fan. Buy it on Tuesday, you won't be disappointed.
Crime In Stereo (http://www.crimeinstereo.com) - Everyone who enjoys melodic hardcore punk should pick up The Troubled Stateside on April 18th. CIS is one of the most overlooked bands on this site right now, but hopefully their new release gets them some recognition.
Theset (http://www.thesetistruth.com) - I'll admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of their album, The Philosophy of Time Travel. I find some tracks to be stellar, and then other tracks just don't seem to go anywhere. Well, after seeing a live show of theirs on Wednesday I'm going to put myself in the "fan" category... Martin proved himself to be a great front man and the band had an unbelievable amount of energy. The two new tracks they played sounded great, and it'll be interesting to see what these boys from Victoria can cook up in the future.
That's it for this week. Other than that, I recommend watching some of this great playoff run hockey, and enjoy the snow melting away and (if you're canadian) the year end exams.
