Who here is a fan of We Came As Romans, who recently signed with Equal Vision and are currently recording with Joey Sturgis (TDWP) on their full length debut. They released the amazing Dreams EP in late December of last year.
Just heard the new song Statues and its better than any of the stuff on the Dreams EP!! Can't wait for the new record!!

This is the only band that I can actually stand that uses autotune-ish shit.
My band has played with them twice, and i've seen them three times. The lead singer of my band is REALLY good friends with them, and he actually got to hear some of their new demos from teh new album. He said its insane. They are awesome and all down to earth guys. They deserve all the success they get.

I wasn't defending them. I'm giving my opinion on them from me and my friend's personal experiences with them.

They may be nice guys, but their music is as generic as it comes.

i say that you start listening to music before you judge purely by the label. they bring alot of non generic elements to the table.

Go to the equal vision records website to see track listing and album art. The record is called To Plant A Seed. It comes out November 3rd.
And this band sounds similar to TDWP but still different because WCAR incorporates more orchestra elements into their music.

I don't exactly understand how people can say this is cliche, sure there are other bands working the same genre, but this rises far above all that crap and they bring a new element into it. It sounds much more mature and thought through than the other bands doing similar things.
btw statues is beast as hell and I cant wait for the new album
Really looking forward to hearing the album.

i still dont understand how people dont notice how NOT like everyone else in the scene they are. They have a completely different aura about them. and it hits hard but still has great hooks. please tell me one band OTHER THAN TDWP(they suck and sound nothing like wcar) that sounds like wcar

TDWP are a better band and WCAR clearly does have some similarities to TDWP. Are you geuinely saying that there is nothing similar about the two bands' sounds?
Also, WCAR reeeeally need to lighten up on the old vocoder and auto-tune usage.

Uh yeah they are like everyone else in the scene, kid. Also, why should I point indivdual bands when you can just compare them to the bands they tour with, since they are one and the same.

They have the same breakdown style, but TDWP is very uncreative in every other aspect. And WCAR does not use auto-tune just a bit of vocoder in a couple songs. And it fits there style. There is a difference.

Considering they all play shit music, yeah they are the same. Face it, they are not original, they are not noteworthy, they are nothing more than a Myspace fascination from which their fanbase are nothing more then tween neon kids that are too fucking stupid to find good music so they settle for whatever third string shit that comes their way. You want to suck their collective cocks for mediocrity and the further dead horse beating of a dead genre, go for it, contribute to the cancer that is killing the scene along with your delusional beliefs that they are an amazing and original band. Have fun living in your own little world of shitty music.

music being "heavy" with screaming =/= hardcore
not by the original definition of hardcore, but its become alot more generalized, pretty much just used to describe any semi heavy band with screaming nowadays. post hardcore less heavy. and metalcore more. most of the genres are starting to blend together anyways, its hard to tell what genre a lot of bands are.

I actually do not hate either scene, the only thing I truly hate are bands that get unwarranted praise for basically playing generic music and having legions of people claim it's the best thing ever when really it's the same thing that's always been fed to them all this time, just in a new package. It's this sort of thing that has really brought down the scene, it discourages originality and encourages other to do the same thing so they'll get scooped up by labels looking to cash in on a current trend, which in this case is the scenecore craze that's happened over the last couple of years. It's what killed the metalcore scene and scenes before it. Now I came off a bit harsh against you in that last post so for that, I apologize. If you really do enjoy that kind of music, then go for it, however next time don't pick fights with people just because they said something bad about your favorite bands, pick your battles wisely next time.
P.S: WCAR is not a hardcore band.

i apologize as well, i didnt mean to pick a fight, its just hard to tell someones tone through text u know. and ive already clarified what i meant by them being hc, im just generalizing. anyway i checked out what bands u like, i do happen to love a bunch of them. i like a wide range of music and just think wcar is an exception to the trend u mentioned

so i finally got around to listening "To Plant a Seed."
and i want those 40 minutes back. it was like a generic example in being generic. there is nothing impressive about the vocals, its all extremely average, and each song was almost the exact same. it was "this is how we love" here, "we just love love love" there. eh.

i don't know why everyone is hating on this band. to sum it up, when i first heard them, i didn't care for them. here's a tip... see them live. that turned me into a fan. they have this amazing energy and honesty about their live shows that doesn't seem to come across on the album. i'm more of a live fan than anything, but nonetheless, NOT a sucky band. plus, they're some of the nicest guys ever... even if they do like the redwings.
