When I say 'recently', I'm talking about within the last 2 years (2007 - 2009).
Because I was told about The Tallest Man On Earth recently, and just got Shallow Grave today, even though it came out over a year ago. So I figure there must be some music that has come out within that window that I haven't heard but should.
I'm trying to find new music (still). I'm looking for 'indie' type things, but if you know of something you think is AMAZING, tell me.

The Love Language came out recently, and that's a great record. I'd suggest that record to anyone who likes the sound of anything remotely melodic.
Though if you are wondering the genre, it's very indie and somewhat experimental, though has a 50's vibe to it with guitar.

You're right, it does have a very 50's vibe to it. The way they recorded the album is great, even though it sounds all static-y.
Thanks for the rec!

Yes, I'm wondering if they did it to make it sound like the music was coming from a radio back in the 50's or if it's just something they felt would be experimental. Regardless, the lyricism and vocals killed it (it the meaning that it's awesome) for me. I want to hear more. The record is really short
Also, if you like metal, I've got some more recs.
Sunset Rubdown - Random Spirit Lover
Snowing - Fuck Your Emotional Bullshit (skramz/emo, totally badass)
mewithoutYou - It's All Crazy! etc.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz (it's also not as good as their last album, but hey)
The XX - XX
The Do - A Mouthful
Firewater - The Golden Hour
As Tall as Lions - You Can't Take It with You

Yeah man, really impressed had a few listens now. Still doesn't take the crown of The New Fellas for me, but with more listens, who knows. Can really hear the Marr influence.

Men's Needs etc. > New Fellas, in my opinion. I just love that album so much.

Whilst I do love that album and all of their albums, I've followed them from their debut, and when The New Fellas came out I was so excited/found it such a step up from the first. It has a great rawness to it still though and I saw them live on that tour, so I hold it closer.
EDIT: I also saw them live on MNWNW tour too, but still prefer the rawness of The New Fellas.
wow nice to see the good old war love. im wearing my gow shirt now haha
