Monday movie talk 4/10/06

American Dreamz:

Ahhhhhhhh! Who is approving these scripts? Why oh why do we need a movie like this right now?! WE FUCING DON'T!!! That's just it, Mandy Moore is an idiot and combined with the even more moronic Hugh Grant, I'm sick to my stomach thinking about this film. We already have to deal with the attocious reality of American Idol, why make a movie about it?! The occasionally decent Quaid cannot save this....I guarantee an awful turn-out and end product here.
Excitment - 1/10


The Sentinel:

Um......24? Oh no, no it's just the same guy doing the same damn thing again.....wit hThat slutty lady from desperate housewives. Look I don't mean to sound like a jerk but this smeels like re-hash, I guess I'm getting a little sick of these "National Security" movies and TV shows. But hey, there are a ton of people who eat this stuff up like a fat kid in a candy store so they'll surly see it. I don't like 24 and I'm not so into these kind of films. They're so stuffy and overloaded with B.S. this being said I most likely won't be seeing The Sentinel.
Excitiment - 4/10


The Davinci Code:

Now here is something with MAJOR potential, of course you already know that Howard, Hanks and Co. will likely take home all the awards for this. But no matter, it could be a great totally deserving film for all I know. Problem is, I've never read the book, and I guess that most people havn't. I know that it's about a big secret involving religous matters and that's enough to get me intrested. There are some big names involved and the trailers look very creepy and tricky. This is one of the biggest releases of 06 If not the biggest so of course I'l lbe there on it's opening day and let's hope it doesn't dissapoint.

im hoping the Da Vinci Code can live up to the novel, but i have problems seeing Tom Hanks as Langdon, and I have this general feeling the movie will be rushed.

and i read the da vinci code last summer so i don't know if its better to read a book before seeing the movie or the other way around, but i loved the book and howard and hanks can do no wrong so i cant wait to see this

dan brown (author) writes in A LOT of twists and turns, some people will rave about how exciting the book is because of it, i think he goes overboard with it and frankly i think it ruined his other popular book (angels and demons). If you have time, read it, i read it in like two days

the problem is Mandy Moore is going to be a less Christian form of her role in Saved, and the characterization of Bush is gonna be terribly cliche.

I know there are $5 Tuesdays at my theater, but I doubt I spend the money on it

If you have time, read the book. It's so interesting to see how thing play out in your imagination. I'm rereading the book so I can see which I like better (book/movie). All I know is that I am so excited for this movie.

I will see the sentinel, yes i know Kiefer is playing Jack Bauer basically in this film, but i love 24, and it will be a cheap thrill, hopefully.
