Certainly not, well maybe if you're fifteen and missed the whole N64 era.

Good game, played the fuck out if, my fave from 08 but not the greatest game ever by far.

no.
to much slinking around collecting crap.
shooting outside of v.a.t.s. is sub par.
your character animations in 3rd person perspective are laughably bad.
in some instances the need to be in an exact spot for your map to register a location as found is annoying.
the game crashes way to often.

Certainly not, well maybe if you're fifteen and missed the whole N64 era.because the fifth generation was the first to have a great game, and it should be referred to as the playstation era if anything else.
my economics teacher beat the game and all downloadable contents lol
i thought it was way too short, but good nonetheless. also: i wish they would make a new elder scrolls already

i've got my complaints with the game but this isn't one of them because it's a game that can last as long as you want it to.
the main quest storyline is rather short, but the number of sidequests and amount of exploration made available to you could easily fill up 60 hours....and that's before downloadable content is taken into account.

I haven't played it about 3 months. I liked what I played of it but I have trouble playing games that are way too open ended, I need something pushing me along while keeping it open ended to an extent. In this I could walk around the wasteland for 4 hours and accomplish nothing.

I love this game. SO much. Only game I own that I have every achievement for. But I wouldn't even say it's the best game released by Bethesda.

Naw, shit gets boring after you've played through it for the fifth time.
Point Lookout was fun, everything else they added to it was not that great.
I personally think it's the best game since the NES era.
N64 fanboys are ridiculous, the system was garbage and every "great" game they'll reference has been trumped since then.

This. Will you be trying out The Old Republic?
I love FO3, but to call it greatest game would be a bit of an exaggeration for me seeing as I love plenty of other games just as much/more.
@the guy who said the N64 had the greatest games ever: Just because it was the first really 3D console, does not make the games the greatest. Though, the Zelda Games were great for it and I still play them, aside from those 2 to me the games were just good.

I love this game, but Oblivion and Wind Waker have to be my personal favorites of all time. Open ended games are the best.

no fucking way. its great yeah, but its overrated for sure.
It takes way too long to make a completely new character and build it up. I was gonna start again and make this complete asshole cannibal who only uses melee weapons, but then I thought it would just be a hassle.

I really love Fallout 3 but it's not the best game ever, it has so many glitches and crashes so frequently. At this point I've played through it so often nothing is challenging in the game, it's so easy to level and get caps.

Not even the best xbox 360 game, noen the less the best game ever. Game was kind of average in my opinion. Best game ever... would be Super Mario World. Or maybe Link to the Past...

Haha I loved Shenmue on the dreamcast.

As much as I love FO3, Oblivion is better.
As much as I love FO3, Oblivion is better.
I still need to play this.
The problem with FO3 now is you can get all the DLC, come out the vault and do shit like Anchorage and Zeta first. Then you're just too overpowered for the main game.

yeah, besides all the other minor quirks mentioned the level cap at 20 was the biggest downer

Cap is 30 if you get the DLC. Adds a ton of playing time.

Seriously? I never had it crash or even glitch once in the main game, and only once in all five of the DLC's.

Happens to me all the time  Especially when I got to Raven Rock. Saved on the ship and it crashed, then it wouldnt load the save so I had to go back to the tunnels and repeat like 10 times before Raven would load again...

Yeah I can't finish the Oasis quest because it freezes every time I try to enter the underground cave, and the graphics are always flipping out. I enjoyed it though, I still recommend it to people.

this game has frozen on me so often it's just become instinctive for me to save before the game has to load a new area if it hasn't autosaved in the last 5 minutes.

WOW. That's so weird we've had such vastly different experiences (glitch-wise) with the same game on the same system.

Clearly not far enough. It started out so cool and then it just became redundant.

yeah i hear ya about the redundancy. one of the biggest things with the game is how HUGE the capital wasteland is - and let's be honest, exploration in a game isn't for everyone. and i think that's what turns a lot of people away. the world of the game is just SO big that it either 1) takes forever to actually get SOMEWHERE or 2) forces people to shut it off.
in my opinion the game doesn't get good again until you reach the GNR building. the megaton part is the first big place after the vault but depending on what you do there, you don't know where to go and you're left to just walk around and it gets REALLY boring REALLY fast.

Agreed, my favourite FF game and best playstation game by far.
Although Abe's Oddessy comes close.

Yeah, pretty sure it's nationwide, but don't hate me if it's not! It's definitely worth checking out.
Possibly one of my favorite games. Definitely up there in the top 5 though.

I got the Game Of The Year addition with the extra stuff on another disk. Can't wait to start The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage.
