...is starting his streak over again. 4 games down, 53 more to go.

Hahaha. Imagine he puts a 20 game winning streak together. Then he would have a 38 game streak, no hit next game, 20 game streak after that. That would suck.

yeah hes gonna get alot of at bats a game. the phillies can hit the ball they just seem to have trouble driving in the runs. im not sure what their team BA is but im assuming its kinda decent

caleb, your locking spree has really gone over the top. i hate those big huge threads because they're so unfocused, and if somebody wants to make a seperate topic about a specific player, then they can. Directing every post about the 4 major sports there is lame...if anything, i love seeing tons of topics here - the things that I hate are the stickied discussion threads.

thanks scott...

the phillies big problem has been they can't hit with runners on. their pitching has done surprisingly well and they can get 1st and 2nd no problem, they just can't drive them in. so frustrating because every game looks close, but they just have nothing to put them over the top.

yeah, i was blown away. the season is a week old and he needs to rest half the starters who haven't even gotten themselves in a groove yet, and had just come off their first win?

I never like Manuel to begin with. Couldn't get an Indians team to the playoffs in Manny's last year. It never seems like he has control of the team. I understand what the Phils were trying to do going from Bowa to him but I dont think it will work.

i like you because of the 24 thread and in most of the sports forum, but everytime we talk phillies you shit all over them, just stay out of this thread if you don't have anything useful to say

All I know is that Aaron Rowand, Jimmy Rollins, and Ryan Howard looked good tonight against Atlanta. Rowand was a great pickup.

gillick has in his contract a clause that disallows him from firing any staff within the first year. so manuel pretty much has his job for this year. unless they make the playoffs he'll be gone next year.

Im pretty sure that Dimaggio had a 20ish game hit streak right after his 56 game one ended. He had a hit in something like 76 of 77 games.

i want the phils to win now but they really are set up better for next year and gillick knows it

he will fire manuel, then wolf, lieberthal, bell, and a few others come off the books, and the free agent pitching crop next year is ridiculous last i saw

daily games can stay in the MLB threads, but discussion of a player, injury, or trade, should have it's own, that's how i feel

this isnt me being a smartass or a dick i promise, i just wonder what you (or anyone else here feel free to give your input) see as the difference between a player thread and a team thread?

i agree that having a team thread for every team would be ridiculous. but when there's enough support of a team, i have no problem with a thread. i don't think it should be stickied, but i have no problem with one.

a red sox one would be fine, there's plenty of sox fans to keep it alive and that's one more thread i know right away i have no interest in. but for teams with fewer fans on here, they can stick in the main sticky thread. which is why during cavs games i'm talking to myself in the nba thread. be stupid to have a cavs thread in that case.

but some of the individual threads get out of control. granted, most of the bad ones come from names i'm not really used to seeing in here. so i just ignore those and hope they die quickly.

that's just me though. and i personally don't give a shit either way.

yeah, those are my feelings basically. even if most people don't care about a thread on the board, it doesnt make it any less worthy. i just don't understand the confining threads so people can scan this board easier. its just a click of the mouse to go from one page to the next. i think the stickys should stay the way they are too.

the individual threads don't bother me at all, i think it's great to see this forum grow, so the more topics the better. I just don't think there needs to be any "official mets/brewers series thread" or "official tim wakefield thread" If there's news about a player, or something worth creating a thread about, then fine...but day to day games and game comments can be left to the official threads

nothing would please me more than to see Lieberthal and Bell go. Fasano doesn't look too bad behind the mound, but maybe that's because I really hate Lieby

Good for Jimmy. The offense has been looking great against The Braves

Hey Ernie, have you heard anything about Lieberthal being HATED by the pitchers and a good portion of the team? I heard things today about him being a huge huge prick this year. Moving the glove on them, etc.. He also refused to give autographs during spring training

i interned with the phillies last summer and his girlfriend is a receptionist there, she said he hated nothing worse then bullshitting with fans he doesn't care about...and it is interesting that already lieber and floyd request fasano
