neal avron = every pop-punk/rock band's major label debut... but then again hes good... YC's ocean avenue and DA's mapping an invisible world are really well done not to mention one of the best cds ever... NFG!

*edit*- i hated his prodcution of FUCT, o'keefe was better

thats a weird thing to say considering all his production with fob, nfg and yc are extremely similar and the only huge difference is who mixes the cds. i'd like to see some of these bands with different producers, never been a huge fan of the guitar tones on avron's productions.

i thought the production on that album was absolutely horrible.

the guitar tones are pretty damn decent on ocean avenue and sticks and stones compared to what else is out there.

they aren't nearly as good as like don gilmore/linkin park guitar tones or what's on the new nickelback record though, but still very good.

i don't know...neal avron started losing points with me after catalyst and then FUCT and now lights and sounds. none of these cd's are anywhere near what he's capable of. i'm wondering how much of it is the band's influence and how much of it is the producer's influence.

In my opinion, neal avron is highly over rated. I've heard some mixes he did for my friends band and he basically butchered a song. They were stuck paying for it eventhough it was god awful.....its only my opinion...k

yeah, Avron is the go-to guy for major debuts nowadays. too bad i dont care this time around, not a fan at all of Reeve Oliver. Horrible band live, completely put me off them.
